I think his time would be better spent gophering coffee for the other devs than wasting it on 3rd person.

most simulation games have had the option of a third person view, and I am sure I can remember the option in MW3 & 4 (although it has been a decade), as long as it is optional I can see no problem with its inclusion

It wasn't a good idea in those games and it isn't a good idea in this game.

Sure it's optional, but it means those who take the option have an advantage. Seeing around corners and over hills to poptart your face off.

The issue is it segments the already small playerbase even further.

Actually, as everything has proven so far, most of us will stay with 1st person.

The 3rd person players could technically be a new part of the community created from ground up by casuals.

At least that's how I can rationalize Bryan's decision.

Not to mention small playerbase meaning that one of the queues will be the only queue.

For instance, in MW3/4 I wanted 1st Person View and Heat On Limited Ammo.

Nobody played that.

Everyone played 3pv / No Heat + Unlimited Ammo, unless you were a gorram pro in some ladder, which I was not.

Joystick. At wall. In disgust. Literally.

And if that is the case, more power to them.

I somehow am not optimistic that that will be the case.

We shall see, yes?

I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and say that most people in favour of 3rd person view merely want to see their mech in full glory on the battlefield rather than actually do the fighting in that mode.

I really dont dig the lobby view and the fact I cant zoom out or see it move. The paint job I bought also seems wasted.

What is the problem of having a 3rd person mode that is purely "navigational" ? You know, you moving to a point on the map and wanna see your whole mech, enter 3rd mode. When you enter 3rd person mode your aim could be hampered severely or weapons are locked down.

This would suite me fine as someone who just wants to view my "whole" mech now and again on the battlefield.
