That is so sexist.

I'll take three, please - blonde, brunette, and redhead.

I don't know Going Commando in a Commando seems like a necessity to me...

Btw I've never heard a girl scream " Kill 'em ALL YEEEAAH!" In a bikini holding a plasma rifle. Regardless of How sexy it would be.
The suits I believe are plugged in as a liquid cooling system otherwise the pilots would cook faster than a hamster in a microwave. I really don't see people living in thousands of degree Kelvin any other way. Your skin would melt bikini or not. The Awesome laser brick alone busts several thousands of Degrees Kelvin in one shot.

No ...Clanner women in Bikinis are not sexy let alone I don't think they know what sexy is^ - ^

I am still Pro Bikini 'MARIKA

optional clothing opens up pandoras box in terms of what would have to be included. male, female, female looking like male, male looking like female, nekkid, fully clothed, too exposed, chicken suit. it would be an endless amount of work to make everyone happy...and then you would have to repeat the process for different colors of clothing, skin and hair. if it has been started, im sure its so far down the rabbit hole on the to-do list it wont be seen for a long, long time.

The model of the pilot is still just a model from Crysis in his uniform and is a placeholder, afaik. N o other reasoning behind it.

************* looking or not, book after book, description after description for almost thirty years of fiction everyone who has ever piloted a mech has beenand prob always will be half dressed. it is hardly the biggest problem at the moment by any means but it would be great to see it I think, kinda like the thrill I got from hearing bitching Betty when they finally added that.

So in the Inner Sphere they can sew cooling tubes into a vest but haven't figured out a way to do it for trousers or sleeves, is that the gist of it?

I'll just go ahead and be the guy to bring up the pink elephant sitting in the room:
The reason why our in-game avatar is covered head-to-toe in a cooling suit is because not all of us are white guys.

Yes, political correctness is probably a factor in why our avatars is presented the way he/she is, but I'm not saying it's the SOLE factor. Just one of perhaps many reasons they opted to have him/her cover up all the way. See, once you reveal the mechwarrior's skin then you also have to reveal pigment. They might get it right for 80% of MWO's player base but it might take away from immersion if a brown-skinned player finds a white-skinned representation of himself powering up his mech at the beginning of each match.

In addition to that, the avatar's gender might also be revealed depending on the proportions of the arms and legs, and again while a set of manly arms and legs might be alright for 90% of us, there are a few women out there who might find that a bit jarring. Hence the bulky proportions of our current suits, perhaps to intentionally obscure the mechwarrior's proportions and make it so that the avatar could be either gender.

That said, it would be cool if at some point the devs sold us different avatars to use. So that way we can ensure we are properly represented in the game no matter what race or gender we are in real life.

...or maybe just pick the avatar with a body we like to oggle. I could go for that too. :)

I thought it (at least originally) was something to do with the crysis bodysuit...

Hey if you want an inappropriately dressed pilot track down the Time of War rulebook and look at the sample pilot character. She basically is in a bikini. Somehow I don't think cooling vests work when the "vest" is the size of a tube top.

And if that pic is what I think it's from then I think on behalf of everyone I should be telling you to get the heck out right now.

Increased Bust size on female bikini pilot +2000MC...
Bouncy upgrade +2000MC

No they won't.
All players are male.
All players will want female pilots.
Just make them half naked females in the cockpits. No choice needed.

There's probably a few female players around, and even if not:
Not all males are attracted to females, you know...

Let's have some tolerance here, and let there be half naked pilots of both sexes.

You should see what your pilot actually looks like... 40 and balding. no joke. That aside, I'd rather have a complete revision of the way pilots look. This is no longer cool:
