I have a 6 ac2 build, with armor, no issues. Mechlab fail.

Yea..hate me because I like MGs.. :wub: but this build just works for me.. of course.. MGs hate is big one on this forum..but hey.. I have fun :)

Part of the problem is trying to fit just one weapon type, or trying to fit two of something for symmetry, or trying to fit only the largest things tonnage will allow. This is a terrible way to build a mech.

JM6-S

If your brain can't handle four weapon groups and their overlapping ranges, don't play Mechwarrior.

I like that build... Gauss for punch, AC/2s constantly annoying things, Lasers up close and when ammo runs out, and MGs just because.

When MGs are fixed, imagine the crits you would get with 2 x LBX10 and 4 x MG. Anything without armor would be stripped of weapons instantly.

Hell, even with other weapons, 4 MGs are a nice way of destroying weapons. In theory, if PGI had balanced them properly.

Naa I think I will stick with mechs that make sense, my +700 dam pr match Stalker fx. The jagermech is cuite, i kinda like it. gives me free exp sins the loadouts this "mech" can carry is a joke a big joke. Use it and your fantasy builds I will stick to good old superior firepower instead.

This mech is pointless


The Dual AC20 Catapult would disagree with you. And the Dual AC20 Jager is a solid mech, it can mount an XL and still use the 20s while the K2 can not. That has it's own advantage and disadvantage.

I have been having fun with 6 mg 2 erppc build have. i got the pleasure of sawing of a trebuchet legs in mid air with them

sawing another lights legs with the mg's and stripping various mechs of all the weapons ..

i have seen the ac/12 builds and will probably mess around with those after i get some more cbills saved up to purchase what ever engine is going to be necassary to power the build.

the macro builds with the rapid fire seem particulary nasty.


but thus far i have quite a bit of fun with 6mg build but dont think that the larger weapons are not necassry to strip that armor first.

Whoa... fix that back armor. You have to get closer with those 20s which means you can be easily flanked and shot in the back.

Yup... that is what I put together only issue is if anything starts to get close. It's fine for shooting over someone else's shoulder in a support role, but once someone gets close you don't have enough damage to take them out easily, have to point your front at them, and you are too slow to get away.

the point is: With 6 ballistic points, you can not fill them with useful weapons. (the MG isn't useful, PGI is really bad at this whole "balancing")

I'm pretty sure the OP is stating how useless 6 ballistic points are if your going to actually only use 2 or 3 of them.

Not that I disagree, but 'says the guy using case with an XL engine when he could put that six tons of ammo in legs and CT instead'.

Dual AC20 is so uninspired though. The lack of range just kills it with the advent of Desert and Alpine.

Yeah I wouldn't want to use this mech unless I had 2 Altas in front of me soaking up all the damage while I can fire away a little behind and above them. If you become the focus of enemies? Might as well get ready for the next match.

Someone else is missing a point. That point being they have to have 3 variants. There are not a lot of variants for the Jager out there at this timeline point. This one has a similar weapons to many of the others. Basically the Jager is very typically 2 ballistic weapons in arms and 1 in each torso. So they gave one more energy and one more ballistic. Now they are at least different and maybe someone will come up with something creative OR some other weapon system added or upgraded will make 6 ballistic a golden choice.

What the hell is OP's problem? It's useless and point because you can't fit all the hardpoints? rofl..
You have the best weapon location with either 2x ac20, 3x uac5, 5xac2, 2xgauss+mls (you can fit all of those with max armor enough ammo to average 700-800 dmg per game)
