Alright so LRM10s are the least efficient LRM, so replace the two LRM 10s with LRM5s or LRM15s. Adding on all the bangles and engine upgrades as well and we get this:
STK-4N
The biggest change for this mech will be getting DHS, it will open up the most options for you and allow the most improvements.

its hbk-4g and I really enjoy having 2MGs and AC20, wish I had more slots --- should i get rid of ferro fibrous armor?

edit: also should add that I would not like to reduce my firepower.

Keeping SHS and tweaking armor values lets me buff up the engine to a 245, otherwise identical
HBK-4G
Using DHS lets me increase the engine size to a 250, while also eliminating any heat issues from the mech.
HBK-4G
Or we could use the weight gained to only increase the engine to a 225, but add an extra ton of AC20 ammo and a head laser.
HBK-4G
Getting 250 speed is usually the goal for all hunchbacks though, its pretty much the best engine size for a hunchback other than the max 260.

Right now I am at this layout (dropped FF armor for more slots, upgraded to DHS, added AMS & Ammo b/c i was getting smashed by LRMs, and added MPL to my head)
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...fbe93c58c251b0f
But I think eventually I'll drop AMS/ammo and lose some armor to upgrade to a STD230 engine(when i get the cash) and that will be my final build.
Adding the medium pulse laser to my head also dramatically strengthened my brawling power. This thing is a beast and I can imagine will only get better with some more speed, although I'll have to trial and error which helps my survivability more, speed or armor.

I dropped your MPL for a ML and used the free ton to add another DHS.
As an edit: you are just WAY to slow.
basically you are dead meat in such a slow medium.
a 250/260 engine is a must for hunchies.
edit2: for Gidoninah.
Care to explain why LRM10 are the least efficient, especially on mechs that have ten tubes? I wouldn't even think about putting LRM15 or 20 on a 10 tube launcher myself.

LRM5 -2tons
LRM10-5tons
LRM15-7tons
Two Lrms 10s- 10tons
1Lrm 5+1Lrm15=9tons
Though I did notice the 10tubes on the Stalker Arm, an LRM10 would work alright despite its tonnage efficiency, I just felt like putting in a LRm15 in anyways. At the very least its better than firing LRM10s out of a 6 tube launcher.
Also putting LRM20s on a 1tuber is the best thing you can possibly ever do.

Hmm
HBK-4G
Frustrating, I got to about half a ton away from actually fitting a 250Standard with that weapon loadout.

personally i prefer smaller launchers, because of heat and recycle time. actually mostly recycle time. so LRM5 and 10s are what i mostly use.

Centurion time!
Curious to see what you gys think about my Mechs.
I got CN9-A first. At the time, 260 was the biggest engine. I think I removed too much leg armor. Running it as a close range SRM 6 zombie. Current missile nerf hurt tho. Maybe try to but some ballistics in it.
Then I got CN9-AL and I quite enjoy that one. Current build tend to overheat a little and is a bit slow.
Considering getting an XL 275 and sharing it between the 2 Mechs since I play more with the -AL than the -A.
I also just got a YLW and I have no idea on how to improve it. Stock is slow and don't have a lot of ammo.
Thanks!

CN9-A
The design really wants to Zombie but if we must put in a XL with ballistics.
CN9-A
CN9-A
CN9-A
Blegh, not really my favorite mixes though.
Laser Centurion time!
Same heat, but faster
CN9-AL
Decreased SRMs, More Cooling, more speed
CN9-AL
Even more speed! But using Streaks now.
CN9-AL
Okay now lets try out an 275 XL engine and see what happens.
Well we can increase DHS, and we can keeps those SRMs, but our armor values are looking a little worriesome.
CN9-AL
Dropping SRMs to SRM4 again
CN9-AL
All the Cooling!

I specifically wish to use large pulse laser(s). Preferably one or more arm mounted (one each arm or two on same arm. Medium or Heavy Mech. Speed would be a bonus.
Any suggestions?

I'm not impressed with the performance of the SRM4 after the new patch, but I'm not sure what I should replace it with. Maybe drop the SRM4 and switch to 1LL and 1MPL?

Here are 3 mechs, i prioritized speed and large pulse lasers.both the Hunchback and the Cataphract had left over tonnage, while the Trebuchet was more or less maxed out, unless you remove jump jets. The 1X presented some interesting options if you wanted to drop speed in favor of a standard engine, or drop speed and heatsinks in favor of a ballistic weapon.

I used to run an AC/10 in the right arm, but that build was hampered by its complete lack of long range firepower. In some stand-offs I could do little more than cower behind the big guys slugging it out down long range. Picking up the UAC/5 allowed me to add a few DHS and more ammo.
I'd like to keep the SSRMs, frankly because I'm just starting out and not the best shot...and especially against fast moving targets, those SSRMs are the most stable source of damage for me right now. Except when I run into ECM. Then laser panic ensues. ;-)

pretty much fully optimized with those weapons and such, but if you take out 2 heat sinks, your weapons arent really producing that much heat) you will be able to go faster

54% heat eff, runs at 103.7 without speed tweak, 114kph with speed tweak
