well would ya like the ability to exclude maps?

I would because then I could, for example, exclude ALL of them except River City Day and adjust my build for that kind of fighting. Furthermore, i could adjust my paint job and cammo (i might even buy urban camo *coughcough* and some greys *coughcough* If I wanted I could exclude all but forest day and buy camo colors and patters *coughcough* and adjust my build for that map.

no commander would drop 700 tons of endosteel into a battle without the tactical advantage of a paintjob. this seems the EASIEST way to allow us to "choose paint before battle"

i vote yes.

The devs have already said that they are going to implement map selection.

You don't have a exclude none option for part 2 of your poll.. so people like me that don't get "agitated" by the maps can't vote...

EDIT: really... I can't say pain of the derriere region... man forum censoring at its best.

Poll is unintentionally biased.

Can't vote "Nope. None."

PITA works.

and while you fix the poll, fix the spelling of "exlude" to "exclude." Thx.

I'd rather have the ability to choose my Mech , after I know what map I'm dropping into. With the ability to choose proper camo,

Then I can avoid bringing my laserboat to the caldera, and choose something more heat friendly.I can bring my Long-ranged or fast moving mechs for Alpine and Desert, leaving my slow short-ranged mechs in their bays.

Once CW starts, you'll probably be able to pick which planets/climates you want to play, territories you want to conquer, but your climate of choice may not always be an option. Will you let your enemy's take over your territory just because you dont like the map the battle plays out on?

Granted CW isnt live yet, so it has little to do with the current state of the game. But, its coming. As is the Lobby, and maybe, just maybe, the Lobby will allow one to change their Camo based on what map comes up too.

Fixing the rotation is not the same as being able to completely kill a map (or class of map).

If I'm running around in my Whack-a-pult and I draw Alpine or Tourmaline, I have to play those maps with that mech. It's actually fun to have to fight to overcome the drawbacks of a short range mech, if I know that the other team can have a similar disadvantage.

Having the option to remove the big maps while playing a short range mech simply leads to builds optimized for the map type. Heavy energy builds on Frozen City, short range brawlers on River City, long range specialists on Tourmaline and Alpine (ballistic and energy respectively).

I'd rather just fix the rotation so the map choice is weighted away from the last three maps you've played.

I'd like once the map pool is large enough to just exclude the ones I don't like, but I'm against giving people enough freedom to only play on maps that favor their build. Overspecialized builds are pretty restrictive, I like how the current map pool rewards versatility and feel that it adds a lot to the mech building process.

More specifically, they said it would be a vote from the players selected for the match. Also, you'd get to then select a Mech/variant to drop with after having seen the map but before dropping into it. This will all be helpful... but I'd still prefer to actually pick the one map I want to play and queue for it alone... even if it meant a longer search time. Not only would that be nicer, but it'd avoid dodgers. Right now you have exploiters rejecting maps. These changes I mentioned won't stop that. They will simply leave and requeue if they don't get the map they want or DC at start then requeue if you don't match lock like League of Legends does. But even if you did that, they'd then just run in to die, leave, then requeue. BTW, teams would win with majority vote, giving pugs yet another shaft.

yea that's kinda the reason i would like others to have the ability to exclude maps. but i myself would like to exclude certain ones every now and again.

all in all i don't mind randomness ie: not being able to over spec for climate/gravity. but like i mentioned i don't see an easier way to let us AT LEAST choose our paint jobs during a match load.

there should be a preference system against maps.

we can select maps we don't want to play. and there will be less chance of those.
like in SC2

ATM I'd only disable river city night, but if they manage to fix night vision for good (I've briefly tried the preview version they slipped through before hotfixing it) I'd not exclude any map at all.

However that different night vision was even worse than the one we actually have, utterly hurting eyes for good.. I hope they'll fix it for the next week.

If I had my way, I would never drop at River City Night again. The place hurts my eyes, no matter what vision mode I use. I have no problem getting blown up on any other map.
