Playing the game without thermal is like playing turok on the N64.

UNBIND - all due props to those who've done it already. I'm onboard now, who else?
Edited to add:
The 'period' key turns cockpit light off. Makes seeing in the dark a bit easier. Helps your eyes adjust.

Go on hill...turn Thermal ON. See enemy team moving right, left, middle, etc in a manner of seconds.

I cannot see very good anymore in the first place, and thermal or night vision just seems to give me vertigo, as does the completely zoomed out mode.

Self respect is the only reward worth winning. Anyone who cheats in a challenge against themselves has managed to lose in a game in which they are the only player.
Besides, there's no shame in using thermal. The question is do you, as in everyone or anyone, have what it takes to still play and play well without it?
My big problem now is getting distracted. The games visuals are amazing.

When I can see arms, legs, head and identify what the mech is across Forest Colony in normal vision and a round blob in Thermal... normal vision is the best way to play.

I use NV in RCN... I get why people are annoyed it's too bright, but at least there's a level of surface detail on stuff so you can tell whether you're looking at the front/back of something or not.
Unbinding Thermal - EASY
Unbinding NV - I don't wanna - but I bet I could
p.s. there should be an addendum to the No NV/Thermal rule... no jacking with display Gamma til night looks like day!

Ye got the MK1 Eyeball - the greatest gift GOD gave you.
Or do it properly, go up until you see the white of the eyes of the PILOT in the mech.

So, without issuing the challenge and bringing it up.... how would anyone know as a group that other people are doing the same thing? Challenging themselves in the same way?
If you don't care then don't do it. I confess I'm at a loss as you why you responded in the first place but okay. Shine on you crazy diamond.

It's that thing that tells you how close they are to overheating.
Pfft. Almost everyone overheats now anyway. I can tell they're overheating when they shutdown Then I dual AC20 them in the cockpit and listen to them complain that I R HAXXZORZ.
You back to playing again?
