the matchmaking in "world of tanks" is atrocious and it gets worse mate! during the year i played the game, i noticed that the matchmaker put me in games my tank did not fit in. the enemies were much too powerful and my gun didn't do ****. so i played some more. maybe i needed another tank with a bigger gun? how wrong and naive i was :P
i got my "StuG" and my "PzKpfw. IV" but still got matched against the highest tier of tanks there was. world of tanks wants you to buy premium tanks and premium ammo and if you don't do it....well deal with the matchmaker and get stomped. P2Win all over the place :(

Then why are wot player stats much closer to 50 50 than mwo? Much closer. Much much much closer. You could learn a thing or three from their balance. Sounds like you could learn a thing or three about playing world of tanks. Do you know what % of wot players have over a 60% win rate, and compared to mwo? Just because your bad at tanks does not mean, well, anything. It just means you suck at world of tanks. Its ok. I suck at cooking.

I too have a p4 in world of tanks. I killed a tier 8 lowe in it today. 105 mm rounds. Guess what hes carrying. Oh, its a 105 mm barrel as well. I am tier 5, he is tier 8. Was alot of fun. Was surprised to see 40k people playing it today. How many people were playing mwo today? Saw that with their player counter, that they dont hide. Wheres yours?

Well, if a person sucks they throw you into a low-tier battle and if you do too good it throws you to the wolves you can't scratch or outmanouver most of the time.

True. You can think of WoTs MM as a cruel unforgiving byitch. And if you manage to rise above 50, she'll keep handing you shyit sandwiches. Thats why even being over 55 means alot in wot. Here, its par for the course. just a product of nil MMing, and 4 man pub stomping.

Just 50%

Simply played too many different tanks before for Panther to make a real difference even though it was my most played tank.

Actually...WOT is interesting...but is a classic expert game...where the old hands enjoy squashing newbies.

MW has always had that flavor also...BUT

The foundation of MW is units....always has been and always will be units..

Yea its fun to "lone wolf"...but the STAYING power of this game has always been league play...in which you become part of a unit like Federated Suns....or Clan Wolf...House Steiner, or Kurita... You join the unit...you try out...go to the newbie lance...where you are paired up with vets...who help you master the game...and learn to play and learn team roles in this game...a game that is specifically framed around exactly this type of play.

We have not had much of this in the beta..you have the units out there...and they practice unit drops like we FS players do...and we are beginning to get our lance plays together like we had in MW3 and 4. We learn and experiment...and work as a team to get better...and encourage each other and, like yesterday...spend an entire 12 hour Saturday...in teamspeak playing a game together...and having a great time...

This is the beginning...the first fruits...the promise of what is coming soon.

The dev's will be putting out a viable player match lobby....and of course will give us the ability to have unit vs unit drops and matching just like the past versions of thisgame....its what we do in MW!

And...Soon...there will be some form of league developed...which will probably be similar to the MW Starlance....where we have player and unit competition...

Heck...I still remember fondly when I was top points scorer in Starlance for a couple of months as FS Servant....lol

I would caution this development team...DO NOT make the same mistake that nerfed MW4 league play....That matching system must be such that a viable LEAGUE can operate easily... because the extended ENJOYMENT of this game is its ability to form the vehicle for personal and unit bonds as we play and form friendships in this environment.

So ...enjoy....because it is just going to get amazingly BETTER...

And lets get a reincarnation of Starlance going..... Dark Angel...where you at???

Also Hobbit...we need you back in FS!!!

I had a similar experience with both games, with one main exception... I had a group that I played with almost from the start. As such, I feel that the frustrations were lessened and the enjoyment increased significantly. If I want to single player, I can always go play a single player game.

Wargaming are just out to make money, and the whole of World of Tanks is geared towards you spending money by making long horrible grinds for tanks/equipment, so you can get them quicker.

Jesus christ - that's the whole point of f2p. If only the gaming community at large would wake the hell up and quit buying into this crap, maybe we could go back to paying $60 for a complete game and be done with it.
