My eyeballs squeak in my sockets every time I see this pic. But you know what? In combat you sit INSIDE your 'Mech, so no matter :)

Hero 'Mech? Check.

Lore? Check.

Pilot is a chick (AGAIN)? Big check.

Also, judging from the appearance, the arsenal consists of a Gauss, 3xML, 1xSRM6 plus 1xLRM10. And chance is you will get more than these hardpoints on the actual 'Mech.

Not mentioning there are plenty of good Highlander variants, one of which has an arm-mounted AC20.

Damn it PGI you're tightening my wallet again!!

Slight typo there? :)

Plus... that mech is so hard, that it can take out Missiles with its flatulations (judging by the location of the AMS radar).

I'm curious about engine sizes. Also wondering if this thing will knock the Atlas off the map.

That was a dreadful typo....

If the Mechbay Java program is accurate, Highlanders would have a engine cap of 325, bringing the speed on par with any higher-tonnage Assaults.

Huh, anything can knock out an Atlas, providing you have the right loadout over the right range.

Okay maybe not anything.

Are they seriously bringing out a Hero variant for an un-released mech before Hero mechs for variants that have been in since the start?

WTF?!?!

Where's my Hero Catapult? Do you not want my money?

Well if you -really- need to get that feel, you can try this. Take any missile cat, preferably C4 or A1, slap a dazzle paint job on it with yellow and black. Then when you go into battle with your splatcat set up drop a quarter into your lap every time you get a kill. That is pretty much what Butterbee would be in a nutshell.

I'm more interested in being able to earn more C-bills in my favourite chassis. Are they actually going to release a hero Catapult or is it a case of "If you missed the founders boat, too bad"?

I believe they stated a goal to have a hero mech for every Chassis.

max engine rating should be 325; I guess hardpoint layout on that thing is
GR->RA
SRM6+LRMs+1Energy->LT
3 Energy->LA.

Therefore it should be easily counterable by side torsoing the LT, while the othe landers have a Ballistic + energy in the right side and all missiles in the left side.

If I'll be given the possibility at least to change the colours (retaining the hero skin, I don't care if I can't replace it, but those colors.. yes) I think I'll seriously think about this one, although It's sure it will cost more than the PB, so I guess it will be way over 6k MCs.

I guess they'll do like they did with the Cataphracts.. new mech, new hero. And about hero Catapults, devs stated that for chassis already having founder mechs, you'll have to wait or "heroize" one of your vanilla mechs once that ability will be given to us.

Well that makes me sad. I would love to make my C1 a hero, but waiting for it kind of sucks. It surely can't be something difficult to code for i.e. an extra variable for your mech which says if it has a c-bill bonus or not.

1t=75MC, It should cost about ~6750 MC... If I'm about to buy it, I would check the others chassi first. Best reason why: STK-3H/4N vs.3F/5M/5S

Highlander > Assault with JJ, can kill enemies with a manoeuvre called "Highlander Burial" > Jumping right in the face. Useless in the current state.

To bad it's an MC only mech if it's a hero. Would love to spend MC on this mech if it was fairly available to all.

C1 is righteously one of those that already feature a Founder variant.. they confirmed the intention (although with no ETA) to give the ability to heroize your beloved mechs for MCs of course, unfortunately you'll have to wait :/

Yep, JJ on this thing will give it a tremendous mobility. Suicide poptarting builds with 3 JJ, GR+3Tons and 3 ERPPCs with 14 DHS should be doable even with a STD engine.. And it will be hell!

I like the looks, but after playing with aforementioned Java mechlab the best variant I came up with was 3xLL, GR, 2xSRMs6, 325XL and 3 JJ

Those hardpoints just don't seem to work for me.

Also, the devs stated somewhere that collisions and/or knockdowns will be in game sometime around Highlander release. If so "Highlander Burial" will be possible.

It could of course be, that the Highlander has 2 or even 3 Balistic slots where the Gauss Rifle is build in (much like the Balistic Hunchback has 3 Balistic slots, but only 1 barrel). Theoretically you could put in 2 AC5s (or a UAC5 and an AC5) in the arm instead of the easily destroyed GR.

Yep, one of the variants has 3 ballistic hardpoints in RA, you can fit either an AC/20 or 2xUACs there.

I'm going to bet that the SRM port in the left torso is fake.

Sol jocks would often throw fake weapon ports on their Mechs to mess with people.
