We all know the game requires 3 mech variants of a given chasis in order to elite or eventually master it. Now sometimes there are not 3 variants of the chasis you really want to have (or you don't want to buy the hero variant), but you really want to elite/master that 1 or 2 versions. What do you guys typically do with the dud when you buy it?

I elite em' first, then after some time I decide which ones I'm not really using but only when I need to make space, if its sitting there it doesn't hurt anything until I need the space after all.

I simply keep all my mechs. Which means I trick them all out completely. Which may be why im constantly broke in game lol

havnt decided if i will sell unused mechs but if i do i just intent to pull any parts from my main out that i can and use those until its done then put them back and sell the mech i dont want.

only non transferable improvement id probably do is endo steel, i can deal with overheat but at least ill be moderatly effective before i do

I filled basic with GXP on the really bad ones like the K spider or the DD Jag.

Master them all, then sell the junk ones and keep the others.

I beat mine like they were foster children until I make them usable.
Even if I use a loadout that I could emulate with another of my mechs, if it's useful it's useful.

Then I leave it that way, and let it fufill a niche that the other mechs of that chassis don't exactly nail.

Had a problem with my Hunchies - loved the 4P, but needed another 2 to unlock...

Took a 4G, and just ground the hell out of it to get the bare minimum xp required.... I don't even touch it anymore...

I also invested in a 4SP, and stripped the missiles, whacked in DHS, and the energy I went with 3x Medlas and 2x Llas... THis in now my favorite mech, as everybody tends to try take out my small twin hunches a moment before my large lasers melt their faces off. I get my best scores with this one...

I'm a Pokemech player. I may not like them, but I gotta own them all and be a Pokemech Master.

Usually I pick the odd one out as my middle mech of the 3, that way I feel like I am building to the better mech again....but since I am going to be in the chassis for a while, I might as well build it as good as I can so it is the most playable for my style.

I don't sell any of them. I just keep getting the feeling PGI may do something to make the bad variants good in the future. And I don't want to have to buy them again.

I hold on to them all. I might figure out a build I like at a later time due to some change in the game or introduction of something new.

The perfect example is the AS7-D-DC. A lot of people didn't like that mech. They preferred 2 more CT Energy weapons or having two energy weapons on each arm, they weren't really using the extra missile point for much, and something like the RS came with two mounts for AMS. Then one day ECM was introduced and people started using the D-DC much more than the other variants.

I try to make a go of it.

Thusly my AC20 4x Raven I'm grinding now. :) Hopefully I can stomach playing it and the other one to Elite...

So far I've only GXP-cheated one mech, and that was the Atlas-K. Couldn't make a go of it, too painful.

I fully build them. Once I get elite I decide which builds/versions I liked and sell the rest.
