I don't use thermals or night vision to snipe long distances. You don't need them. And you don't have to squint up to your monitor to do it.
Unless you're playing on a 800 x 600 window.

It's actually an equalization of the vision modes. Now none of them are obviously better than the others.
This is Beta. Adapt or die.

Yep, I'm tired of playing shoot-at-rainbow-blobs-in-grey-land all the time because thermal is tactically superior in almost all circumstances.

Then you literally have no excuse. You just need practice.
Besides, like someone else has said:

i hate more that i HAVE to use thermal vision to be able to see at any decent range.
i mean for F's sake GET RID OF THAT HAZE ALREADY.
My real fear is that come april 2nd anyone hoping ot be effective at sniping will require a module (that is if it even works at all) which would mean newer players would have a month or two (depending on play rate) before they could do any decent sniping. And vet players would have an extra day or two grind attached to every mech so they could get the module.

if I had to take a guess, they just got reliant on it.
A habit of sorts.

because alot of maps have that nice annoying "haze" after 600 meters it doesnt make it immpossible to see but alot more difficult, throw in trees with that haze and it becomes ugh then add in ecm cover prevent you from seeing a target and its GRRAAAAAA

Nope. All you have to do us put the crosshairs on the mech and click the fire button - same as always. Besides, default spotting range to target a mech is 800m. View distance for thermal and night vision is 700m. Boo-freaking-hoo
