Mauler will show up, but not for a long while.
i would like Cyclops. Always thought it looked good, if I recall they were in MW2, but it might go all the way to my copy of MW from like super nintendo or something, i will have to look. In any case, I would like to have one in the new age of graphics!

If I was honestly asked which mech would be the most likely Candidate, it would be a three way tie.

Its going to be either a

-Victor
-Mauler
-Cyclops

My choices would be Victor, Cyclops, and Zeus.

Fair enough...although, if that is the only source for it, that means the fear I had is currently true. The only way to get a 400 series engine, and worse, a mech that can mount it, is MC. Does that qualify as P2W?

In fairness, 400 engines are really terrible value and way way way beyond the reasonable point of diminishing returns on engine rating. 375/380 is really pushing it, 400s are just insane prices.

I see your Mauler and raise you an Annihilator.
Because why should the Dragoon's have all the fun?

Because Mary Sue.

Is 4km/hr and an extra in-engine heatsink PTW in your opinion? If so yes. It really isn't though, the Pretty Baby ends up with 4.5 tons less to play with for those 4km/hr and .6 points of heat dissipation, and has noticeably inferior hardpoints to the -9M that carries a 385.

This is why I hope they get away from the three variant idea, the Mauler is a beloved, tried and true mech of the Inner Sphere. It is very iconic of Battletech.

But, as a Steiner, I would be fine with the Zues ;)

The Mauler seems like a good choice for post clan IS mechs, along with the Bushwacker.

While I could care less if the Mauler is the next assault or not, sticking to the canon variants as the deciding factor for a mech's inclusion into MWO is at some point going to need to change. It would not be hard to create some new variants of any particular mech chassis for it to be put into the game.

For that matter, given my limited experience with TT I've looked over numerous chassis on sarna.net and it seems that only "old" chassis have 4+ variants in many cases. This would limit a great deal of mechs created from 3050 onward, which seems like a bad move.

I don't know, t hat's why I asked. I'm just a little uncertain about anything that offers additional benefit that can only be obtained for money/MC.

Every variant after the Charger's stock model are amazing. Take a look. A couple of them are like the Highlander but better.

Wow, never considered this, but after looking at the wealth of decent variants available in this time period... the Charger really starts to make sense for MWO!

The longer they leave releasing the concept art for the next assault the more they are building it up. As unlikely as I once thought the idea was, I am now of the belief that the King Crab is indeed on its way to MWO.

But as for the Mauler, it is quite an iconic chassis, and I wouldn't be surprised if they find a way to get it in game despite the variant issues.

The Banshee didn't come anywhere near the front of either poll. The King Crab was a fairly clear leader on the "wanted" poll, but not very expected at all.

Wrong! The clear Leader was the 100 ton Devastator and in the same poll, there was a "Bonus Voting" for the 95 ton Banshee and it got more than enough votes. But that means nothing. Back in the days, the clear winner of the 75 ton poll was the Black Knight, but look what we have, now. Oh ..it's the Orion...

Actually, MWO's hardpoint system would redeem the Charger a lot; the stock would get 5 energy hardpoints, for instance. Not too shabby.

They could really even bump this up some. Give the thing 12 energy hard points. You could still fill it with small lasers and have a 36 relatively low heat alpha that can be keyed repeatedly in a short time span.
