Small, obnoxiously cute and hopelessly outmatched?

Yet in significant numbers, and with help from a Wookie, able to bring a mighty Galactic Empire to it's knees?

If so, how about an Urbie Alternative. Everyone is apt to point out by himself, Urbie is in something of a bind. BUT, what if we resurrect a little of the old AI from MW4, and sell Urbie in Lances? 6 Millikn CBills buys not only your very own shiny new UrbanMech, but 3 identical ones that follow you everywhere in loose formation, and tandem fire on whatever mech you have targeted? (possibly have the old default from MW4 command menu "attack nearest enemy" if LOS is blocked to target.)

Is it looney? Of course! Which is why it might work! That level of basic AI has been around for over a decade, and it would serve a second purpose: preparing for making Clan Elementals. The Elemntal, for those new to the franchise, is a 1 ton suit of power armor that ride piggy back into battle on the Clan Omnimechs, and actually caused more terror than the mechs. They operate in packs of 5, so to ever be viable, would need AI support. They were near impossible to hit, impervious to small arms and relatively tough. They were also a HUGE part of the Clan's Order of Battle.

Sometimes, when standard ideas fail, one needs to think outside the box. And sometimes, one is just nucking futs. What say you?

Outfit the Raven 4X without an XL engine, and you could have an urbie if you put an AC/20 on it. :D

It's a nice comparison, but really where was the option of an overclocked, over-sized R2D2?

It would be a waste of dev resources to implement this mech. Its nothing more than a joke of a mech.

Nope, still not an Urbie. Tiny, shorter than a Commando (though quite a bit more rotund), 360 torso twist, THAT is an Urbie. Not a gawky bird that can't hide behind a Hotdog stand.

Sort of like the Flea, or Spider? Believe it or not, some of us play games for FUN.

Also, sorta missed, oh, the actual entire point and concept of the post. But it is probably too radical an idea for you to accept anyhow, I am guessing?

funny thing is with all the modding of the mechs ,you'd probably be able to get a faster engine in the Urbie and outrun some atlas's

maybe downhill, with a stiff tailwind...... rolling on it's side, lol.

Though I would point out, that my "Hero" Variant starts life with a much larger engine, as one can't be a Police Interceptor at 32 kph............ Swapping that Autocannon out for a Large Laser frees up all kinds of mass. Like about 5 tons, after all the other Mods. And the SRM2 and MG allow it to essentially maintain the same combat effectiveness.

Did you use the vehicle flamer or fluid gun rules for the fire hose or was it because it looked awesome (which it does)? Both are better than the SRM 2 for Police duties though the SRM2 is worlds more effective at combat ops.

well, used Vehicle Flamer rules for the firehose. Essentially it is downsized, but has a half ton water reservoir The SRM is more useful in Urban Policing than you would think though. I avoided the streak, specifically to allow for specialized ammo loadout rules, with things like Smoke Rockets, Tear Gas, Fire Retardant and such being usable. Also, one can't overlook the value of simple HEAP when dealing with an armored car heist.

I think they're more like Jawas.

Filthy, annoying, untrustworthy, underarmed and underarmored, and yet they pick fights with everyone they can find.
