that's what most of the forum posts look like lately.

i havnt even been playing that long compared to some and ive already seen this place go to hell

edit: capping isnt going away, so shut up.
this isnt CoD, so quit crying about a pure team deathmatch mode
oh look, coolant made it into the game and the sky didnt fall. in fact, it made no difference whatsoever.
simply removing double heatsinks would create a slew of new problems and a lot more rebalancing would need to take place than if double heatsinks were left alone and heat generation for a few weapons were tweaked. it wouldnt be the magical cure-all you think it would be.

tldr;?
shut up.

/agree
People who have no knowledge of what it takes to make the game think they know how to fix it. they are wrong, but god forbid someone tell them that, or even disagree with them. Sad, really.

What's worse is all these horrible ideas are put into General Discussion instead of Suggestions where they belong. ;)

While I largely agree, people should still feel free to make suggestions. The problem is the tone. There's nothing wrong with trying to be helpful. It's the being insulting and presuming to know better than everyone else that can make this forum unpleasant to read.

General Discussion on any video game forum is almost always a cesspit of the worst whiners and entitled brats the internet has available. It's better than any daytime television soap! ;)

on top of that, a bunch of the suggestions are lacking in logic.

Half of the idiotic suggestions you mention were coined by one user in particular

Yup. I'll let that sink in. Someone needs to take a forum break.

Is it a Mechwarrior game? Because every other Mechwarrior game has had TDM. You must be new to the franchise.

I agree in general but am confused why people keep making allusions to Call of Duty.

Because it's a game played (and enjoyed) by young people = inherently a bad game.

Isn't your thread counterproductive?

are you being serious right now?
i really hope you're not being serious right now.
because that statement is 100% not true.
good job making yourself look like a maroon

on top of that, the more match types you introduce, the longer matchmaking will take to find games.
especially if these people crying about "player retention dropping" believe the things they're saying, then they ESPECIALLY should not be asking for a TDM mode.

because the people who still play CoD games are generally of the same mentality and IQ as the people requesting TDM mode and other stupid changes.
does the average CoD player also enjoy ARMA ? protip: the answer is "no"

this is a mech combat sim. not a run and gun twitch reflex zomg look at my killstreak game.
my advise to people who want TDM with no objectives at all - go play any other generic shooter game. it will fit your needs and you wont have to cry on forums.

funny how my flamebait has generated far and away mostly positive responses and people who agree with me.

also; the DEVS THEMSELVES are saying theire doing what they think the players want... see:
http://mwomercs.com/...095-3rd-person/

first off, "theire" is not a word.
second, you do know this is a beta test right? you just linked me to a thread where they announced something they want to implement in game and specifically asked BETA TESTERS for feedback on it - knowing full well it might not pan out and may get scrapped down the road.
this is something they decided on and then will be asking our feedback.
this is not like the heatsink issue that people are complaining about without giving a single thought to the ramifications.
this is not like the TDM issue that people are just too lazy to play tactically or communicatively and thus want a pure TDM mode which will have a significant impact on matchmaking (which is an issue that link actually talks about as well. give it a read once. after all, youre the one who linked it)

nice try though, come again.

edit: actually, don't come again. now that im paying attention to names i can see you're the only one in this thread causing problems. i think i'll stop giving you the time of day now and let you go back to whatever hole or elementary school you crawled out of

Well there are definite things that need to be fixed:
! = priority
!-missile splash (fixing)
!-mechs (creating)
!-maps (creating)
!-netcode (fixing)
!-camo (creating)
-weapon damage tweaks? (necessary but unknown)
!-3rd person? (um.... ok?)
!-mech collisions (tuning)

As far as I know that is what is being worked on, some glaringly more important than others, but regardless for such a small development team PGI does have a lot on their plates. I feel 3rd person should be an afterthought if anything with the rest of the issue but that is too late for that, same with camo, though the camo is probably a quick job overall. The exclamation points I feel are what PGI is currently working on and it is in fact a lot. I think PGI should've simply had more closed beta time to adjust these issues so not everyone would be complaining like they are now.

As for TDM, since when in the Mechwarrior universe has there never been a lance-on-lance battle to the death?
