To be very honest, I'm not having that much fun under ELO. My usual group includes a good player, so his ELO brings us up into the punching bag range. That makes it less fun to group, which defeats the purpose.

Alone, I get some good games then a whole world of hurt. Then some decent games (close, not stomping over people). It's ok fun, but the looming thought of a streak of curbstomps is always around the corner.

Yes, I'd admit ELO did its job. But I also submit that by doing its job, ELO kind of detracts a bit from my enjoyment. Not enough to make me stop at this point, but its effect is felt.. and somewhat unwelcomed.

And that's why Elo match making sucks... because before it was always beneficial to group. Now it is usually better to play alone (because people you grouped with before probably have inflated Elo scores).

If by doing its job you mean that Elo is there to punish good players and make everyone lose more games (rather than just the terribad losing over and over and over again until they get better).

But... but PGI doesn't want to fragment/segment the community-- that's why they are forcing everyone to "play together" by not giving anyone a choice of maps and such!

Cos if no one plays the FU.. err, I mean "unpopular" maps, then PGI won't get enough data on how FU.. err I mean "problematic" those maps are-- in fact, the more players "disconnect", the longer the testing of the 2(non-)Game Modes might have to continue... :wacko:

Sorry, but even the paying players have to accept that they are part of PGI's "broken".. err, I mean "open beta" testing.

was winning a game entirely because of me, and what happens? i get dropped to mechlab. mech comes back, didn't even get credits. My patience are starting to run out, here's hoping we get a miracle patch sometime soon

i would but jagermechs have a habit of losing their sides. I'll be in a d-dc soon and that should solve the majority of my issues

I think that they 2XP weekend may have increased the number of players, and as a result it somehow messed with matchmaking. I played a fair amount this weekend, and noticed that the matches were generally more off balance than they had been in the week leading up.

Exploiting the map delete bug? People started removing maps because they didn't want to play a specific one, and this is a direct result of that. It still holds your place in game even if your client drops you because you can't play that map.

well to some degree you forget the blackscreen guys wich leave because black screen instead of waiting or alt tabbing
wich is alot frequent since last patch atleast to me but i got like 90% still into the game

You would see those being disconnects in the teamboard. Map exploit are the ones who don't show up at all, keeping you thinking the match maker couldn't find any players and you ended up 6v8.

if you end up 6v8 or worse on alpine or river city night you can be sure some of your to-be teammates bailed out with the map exploit.
