Urbanmech !
Its has slow as the slowest assault mech and twice as ugly.
You can take it to war and pick your kids from school on it.
The right choice for a family man.

And when you win, you get to tell your opponent "Go home and be a family man!"

Problem with the Jenner is that the armour is really light.

That's true with the standard, though the -F variant that dispenses with it's SRM launcher packs an extra three tons on, bringing it's armor up to very respectable levels for it's 35 ton weight.

Unfortunately I made my own Light mech and called it the RCH-** Roach. It was a 30 or 35 ton mech that was fast, jumped and had 5 medium lasers. So I used that mech ALOT. I liked to field a lance of them, and hunt in a group. I do not have a build sheet or the drawing my friends and I made for it on a Mac. We wrote a history for it and made it look like one of the pages from the TRO...

So that was the light mech I used. I guess I am not really answering the OP question though, I am sorry, but I DID play the TT game with a light mech almost consistently, but it was my own homemade mech I built.

I've always been a huge fan of the Raven and I hope in MWO it gets some fancy ECM that helps hide it while scouting and tagging enemy pilots. I enjoy the team play aspect of scout mechs and I'm glad that they are getting rewarded for finding other pilots

If I can choose anything, Ive always been a fan of the Mercury. (Always been a Comstar fan really). It's fast (really fast with MASC) and while not well armed (S and M Laser) it had a beagle probe to help find the baddies. If you like a little more firepower, you add some more lasers (another S and M) and remove the probe.

Could you post a picture of this "Roach"? Sounds pretty cool, and maybe the devs can incorporate some of/all of that mechs designs into the game. Thanx.

Isn't that one of the Unseen mechs? That'd be hard to get the license(s) for, if we want it in the game. Still, I didn't specify "no unseen mechs", so I guess it'll count. :)

Valkyrie VLK-QA has always been my favorite pre-3050 light mech.

A light mech should be fast and maneuverable. In TT terms, that means for me 6/9/6 or something with an even higher ground speed. In MWO so far, there is only the Jenner.

In TT there are some more of course:

Javelin 10F
Firestarter 9M
Hussar

In fact, even some medium mechs make excellent scouts, for example the Assassin, the Cicada 3C or the Clint.

Honestly a pack of 3 Jenners with 1 extra jump jet drop the meds and grabbing more SRM's = bad day for heavies

Why on earth would they slap a fan-made design in when they literally have zillions of canon designs to put in there instead? Besides, the Jenner-F pretty much fills the bill. 4 mediums, lots of armor, high speed, jump capacity. It's been one of the top designs since Mechwarrior 1 for the Inner Sphere for a reason...

Medium design (45 tons).

My favourite Inner Sphere light mech would probably be the Tarantula!

But.. that one didn't see the light of day until 3054, and it's a quad mech, so I am convinced I'll never be able to play that guy in MWO. Amazingly fast, one of the rare quads, 8 jumpjets and a pair of medium lasers and a Streak SRM are pretty spiffy for a mech of 25 tons.

Next choice would be a Panther. Nice punch for a Light.

Oh and I'd loooove to try my hands on an Urbanmech, although I will likely always end up in flames. Maybe one that's a little tuned....

Fortunately, it was quite easily re-arted.

Medium design (45 tons).

Reason I'd want to see the Roach: I like the fan art a lot of people are posting, and am particularly fond of some of the fan-made designs (esp. when done correctly... no Arrow IV systems on a 20 ton mech, for example!). While I agree that they have hundreds (more like millions) of mechs to choose from, I'd still like to see some sort of contest or something in which some of the better fan-made designs are included into MWO... I'll probably even suggest that to the devs at some point. Fan-made designs are, after all, how mechs like your re-arted Valkyrie got started.

On a different note, I DO like your re-arted Val... very nice re-rendering of a classic design. I hope it makes it into the game.

For me it has to be either a wolfhound or hussar.
