Bleh, I read fine. Just get tired of typing something multiple times. I know you aren't a dumbass. I apologize.

This game is a real major let down though.

I can't disagree completely, take solace in the fact that PGI too probably has christians in their midst and thus likely had a shortened weekend (not that that doesn't mean they can't work harder during the preceding week, but I sure as hell didn't either).

No hard feelings! :(

you seriously need to reevaluate your expectations... When they patch as frequently as they do, you can't expect every patch to have a million changes.

This is frequent patching? Maybe...MAYBE for a released game. But even then, I'm pretty sure Everquest and WoW patched as regularly.

For a beta? It's terrible.

Most beta's will have multiple patches during a week to try and squash bugs or test new features.

These guys are so scared of losing money on their "beta" that they refuse to take the servers down often to try and you know...test things.

New Support Modules:

- Air Strike Accuracy
- Decreases the radius of the targeted area by 20%.

- Artillery Accuracy
- Decreases the length of the bombardment zone by 20%.

This seems...backwards?

Also, hurrah on the Jenner statues, now I can buy 11 of them to put in my non-jenner mechs! So I still feel like I'm at home in my little jumping destroyer.

TBH, if you can't walk 25m in 4s, you really need to repair the hip actuators on your Urbie.

I tend to pilot faster mechs so that is not the issue, it's the thought of a large portion of the match being nothing but running around from consumbles that feels silly.

I can confirm that those games do not patch content anywhere near every two weeks. They have 'scheduled maintenance'. Believe me, most post-launch games ONLY receive content in expansions, which cost, at minimum, 30 bucks.

In beta, to have anything substantive, every two weeks is great, as far as I'm concerned. Would you rather they updated half of what they do now every week? It's a waste of time. Efficiency is the name of the game, I assume.

Every 2 weeks is a pretty dang fast patching schedule. Many Betas don't even patch that fast.

I disagree. The game is MUCH better than it was. They are moving in the right direction, even if they have the occasional misstep. I would love to see more bug fixes in this patch, but I try to be realistic. If they are not in yet then it most likely means that it was not a simple thing to fix. If you are currently unhappy with the game then there is no shame in taking a break for a while, come back in a couple of months and see if it is where you want it to be. It is also possible that this version of giant robot combat will never be to your liking.

I'd say it's to increase the damage dealt in a single area, since the amount of munitions dropping would stay the same

No. The 10 boms or whatever hit in a tighter area, would that not be more accurate?

READ the descriptions and figure out what would be backwards about that.

Yah, another two weeks with broken missiles and OP ECM. I guess I'll check back in another two weeks to see if they decided to make the game playable yet.

I'm not talking about content though.

I'm talking about balancing and bug fixing.

And lets be honest, this patch had crap for content too.

What I mean is...why don't they patch missiles 4 or 5 times in a week to try and figure out something to fix them?

Why don't they fiddle with ECM a few times? Instead of one giant end-all-be-all patch. Lower ranges, remove features, see how things go?

Did they really have no other bug fixes at all?

Yeah, but it's a mixed blessing at best. It's a lot easier to escape the danger zone even if you're more likely to be hit if you are inside the danger zone.

In a perfect world, we would see 'mechs well-placed in 50m+ increments, advancing a formation or line so as to concentrate fire via open lanes while simultaneously avoiding large scale air bombardment.

One day...

Yes, two patches a month is very frequent, even for beta.... I can't speak for Everquest, but WoW goes months between patches...

I think you need a reality check.

7 expansions in maybe. When I played up through WOTLK they were patching at least every 2 weeks with something.

Next we have added air-strike and artillery consumables. I think Conquest mode just got more interesting! Here is a pro tip: Use them for when a light is capping your base on Alpine and save yourself a walk back to your spawn!

Brilliant, how did I not consider this?

Because it's a lie and that won't actually happen.

Even just bug fixes for other games can take months you role out. Even in other Betas, bugs can last for months and have patches that don't fix any bugs.
