Add me to the list of black screeners. Pissy 'cause I just shelled out for a catapult, too.

Australian, usually 250-350 ping range.

Tried three times, Alt-tab made no difference in any, waited 10 minutes in the final trial to no effect. Have not experienced crash to desktop or return to Mechlab frontend. And to think I was considering purchasing some MC, too.

I just wanted to say i been doing testing grounds several times and this problem does not occur. So i doubt its driver related.

Also about 20% of the time and after about 1 minute of the black screen i will get this error

CryEngine Error
 
Fread did not read expected number of bye from file, only 128 of 0 bytes read


I had the CryEngone error in the previous patch but Support did help me fix it and it was resolved and i played for 3 weeks without getting the CryEngine Error. It seems to be back in this patch but only occurs 20% of the time where in the previous patch it occured 100% of the time

From Singapore, I must say it scary to see so many of us have the same problem. Me include and i get total black screen once enter a match. Driver all updated so is the graphic diver 314. Sad sad

The most surprising thing is that newly added MC-stuff works fine, but basic game still has a lot of bugs. Developers continue adding new paid and well-working features, turning a blind eye to a great number of most important issues which need to be dealt with. And this makes me wonder what is more important for devs - one-time incomes or increasing players number. And I agree with the guy that said "a $35 mech but no bug fixes."

This is pretty frustrating. I only just returned over the weekend from a few months away from MWO because I was a bit frustrated by the engine bugs and game balance. After a few days of play it seemed things were better but clearly not.

hmpphhh... 6 out of 8 drop are blacksreened!! from indonesia roughly around 290 ms latency.. disaster patch

Same problem here, usually get around 260 ping.

Same issue getting the delayed loading issue on join. I am around 250ms too.
But so far I have been lucky. The slowest load is about 1 min.

Another victim from Singapore. Usual 250-350 ping. Experience per what the above 9 pages of posts said. Nvidia 314 drivers, everything was fine before the patch.

same as everyone else. tried 2 matches, never managed to get past black screen on both. maybe it's the new Night Vision that devs promised.

i've always known that with each patch, PGI ends up breaking things more than fixing things. but this is so crappy, it's a whole new level altogether.

I have this same problem. Updated drivers, been playing about a half hour a day for weeks with no issues. 250-300 ping times.

Same problem, 180-220 ms usually but yesterday i had 400ms.

Same thing, from Singapore...

Suffering what our Aussie and Malaysian neighbours are experiencing. Ping of 250+, before the patch, worked fine, chalked up 2 - 3 hours. After the patch, it just showed me a black screen... Need my fix BADLY...

Random black screens - normally comes good.

I Have found if I press ALT-ENTER and ALT -TAB twice each often come back in magically ok and quickly. Maybe someone smarter than me can figure why this is the case. (Triggering a resend of status/re-registration)?

Ok, here's a possible workaround.

Drop all your graphics down to Low. This probably reduces the amount of stuff that needs to be loaded. Looking at the logs, Alpine and Caustic loaded just under one minute. I still see a blackscreen (my ping is 280 usually), but the shorter load duration means I can actually get games in.

This does NOT solve the problem, nor does it prevent:
  • a horrendous resource locking post-end-game lockup that kept crashing my Nvidia 3.14 drivers. Yes. It crashes the latest driver... had to reboot.
  • Chat from not working -- well at least you're in the game, you just can't chat.
  • Or any of the new crash-possible effects that is in the game at the moment.
What it does is that it improves the chances that you do get to play.

Same here, UK player 100 to 125 ping, now and then loads normally, most times huge delay, dosen't seem to make a differance what map.
