Because I fly simulators like Falcon BMS and Rise of Flight. They tend to be very persnicketty with newer drivers and I only update after other sacrificial lambs pay homage to the Nvidia update altar and spill the blood of their first born calf out of the magnanimous, loquacious, ubiquitous goat-mother Mo-la-loo-la.

Mess with the bull, you get the horns. New drivers exist for a reason and you don't have to run quite so many versions back.

Yea that was great. I love spending my finite human lifespan trying to earn internet currency just to have that time literally wasted because it keeps bugging and I stop earning rewards. I wonder what will break in the next patch!

This makes me want to quit. Everything. Except life. Wow, man. This is deep.

I've only dropped twice, but in my first drop the screen looked just like this acid trip picture. I have current drivers on my system (660M). The second drop the game didn't run long enough to get to the acid trip, it went black, went to windowed mode from full screen and then went out completely dumping me back into the mechlab.

A bit scared to try another drop... this is the buggiest release I've seen to date. They are usually relatively stable for me (relative being the operative word).\

*edit* I found that the acid bug is hitting me each and every game. I can alt-tab out and then alt-tab back in and it resets, but then it can happen again. Hard to brawl in a mech when you have to do that... Hope this gets fixed soon as it's unplayable right now.

Last patch they broke their own new vision modes and cut them a day later. Last month they managed to make LRMs into ion canons from space, the patch before that Alpine itself was a crash bug. This month artillery and the Heavy Metals music don't work.

They clearly have no one doing quality control on these patches. At all.

QFT

Edit: I must admit though that I'm finally able to sell a module, so something is better.

Take back all your crappy and rip-off new content PGI and just debug the game properly FFS, when people can't even play the game AT ALL you gotta know it's a TOTAL FAIL FFS.

If I went to work and did this on the software patches that I'm testing, I'm 100% sure I'll be fired on the spot for not doing my job - not so PGI when we've paid good money from a game that's gone bad to worse, not only in terms of value for money, but also stability and performance.

Well that is not true. You can't have played some of the games released in the last 2-3 years that have had MMO awards including MMO of the year.

It's the way it is.

What is this OP's nonsense about claiming to know that the patch was not tested. Clueless I say. As a developer I can tell you right now that software of any kind that required a GUI cannot be created without being tested. The developer see's it in action as they make it in games.

To claim these things is nonsense. Thread closed I say.

It's not nonsense to assume that a company that continuously releases badly bugged content doesn't have a QC process in place. If the only testing that gets done is the developers own in house process of personal testing as they edit code then that's terrible.

I have this printed out and on my wall behind my desk.

Look... Most likely they are going to use "stock" hardware using the latest drivers and a clean OS for testing. Once you install something other than Windows you have altered the environment from what they tested in. Most gamers I know go a LOT further than that, tweaking graphics settings, overclocking, adding all sorts of other programs, and "optimizing" their systems. Next thing you know a bug never seen in QA pops out in production. People using old drivers are simply asking for it.... (says the man refusing to update his Synapse for his Naga mouse).

When you do update your drivers, please try to delete the shader folder located generally here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\MWO\MechWarrior Online\USER

Obviously, if you changed the default install path it will look different for you. Once you go back into the game it will rebuild the shader folder for you. This seems to resolve some errors for quite a few people.

Seriously - you're running drivers almost a half year old. I don't care about your reason - update your drivers or don't complain. You can't willingly run outdated software and then complain that new stuff doesn't work perfectly.

It is not just an issue with 311 nvidia driver, I have an AMD card and I am experiencing artifacts never seen before, the first one just after pressing PLAY in the updater screen.

Edit: My shaders are deleted automatically each time I launch the game with a batch file, so that's not the problem.

Drivers have nothing to do with the fact that artillery content fails continuously, the new hero mechs sound doesn't play, and a third of players in any given match don't have a functioning HUD.

Hell, this game SHOULD WORK WITH OLDER DRIVERS, THAT IS NOT AN EXCUSE.

This would truly be hilarious if you said the same thing about his car, water faucet, or front door. Built to last!

Dude, I know right.... I really can't beleive he dared complain when using 6 ******* months old drivers.

Crysis 3 was released a month ago... Guess what? It uses CryEngine3. You know, same engine as in this game. And both Nvidia and AMD made some pretty big fixes/optimisations for Crysis 3.... You better update your damn drivers as soon as you get some glitches in games, it takes less time than to complain on a forum and whine for attention.

You think companies test every variation of old driver OS that exists for each chipset? HAH!

Especially one that puts out a patch every month? HAH!

Yes that doesn't explain the other issues... but... Old drivers... LOL.

You were complaining about graphics errors while running outdated drivers. Doctor - my head.
