Heavy Metals music don't work.

They clearly have no one doing quality control on these patches. At all.

Music is working fine on my end, check your volume levels in the client and Windows, and of course make sure your audio driver(s) is/are current.

When you do update your drivers, please try to delete the shader folder located generally here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\MWO\MechWarrior Online\USER

Obviously, if you changed the default install path it will look different for you. Once you go back into the game it will rebuild the shader folder for you. This seems to resolve some errors for quite a few people.

I tried doing this, but I still get an acid trip each and every drop just like the OP. I hope they resolve this bug soon - I can't play this way.

It's not an old driver, it's from Oct 2012. On top it was Nvidia's recommended driver for the windows 8 roll-out. It should be doing fine on a DX9 title.

Found your problems.

5 month old driver... how is that not an issue?

Drivers have nothing to do with the fact that artillery content fails continuously, the new hero mechs sound doesn't play, and a third of players in any given match don't have a functioning HUD.

Hell, this game SHOULD WORK WITH OLDER DRIVERS, THAT IS NOT AN EXCUSE.

By your insane logic, I should be able to run BioShock Infinite on a Tandy...

I don't think I need to elaborate on the problem here.

The latest Nvidia driver install uses a backdrop of World of Tanks. It's a conspiracy I tell ya! *puts on tinfoil hat*

I'd point you to the half dozen threads about arty and the sound not working on the front page, but you can find them. QC is about finding making sure these things work broadly across the majority of hardware. If something doesn't work for one in five that's pretty terrible.

By my logic you should be able to run MWO on a computer you ordered from amazon that had been in a warehouse for two to four months. Something that isn't even close to unreasonable.

It's not nonsense to assume that a company that continuously releases badly bugged content doesn't have a QC process in place. If the only testing that gets done is the developers own in house process of personal testing as they edit code then that's terrible.

Your the player that pushes the devs into providing a public test shard. Then you'll probably be the same players that moan about them using players to test for them lol

You don't use a beta community to test broad hardware compatibility, you do that in house. You use the beta community to test small bugs, balance, netcode and server issues, and deployment of gameplay systems. Releasing broken content to a group of people often times paying you money is just asking to lose your community.

DX9 is more than 10 years old. The current iteration is from June 2010. In light of that Oct 2012 isn't old, but you're welcome to disagree. On a sidenote I run ATI on W7 :P.

I was more irked about just cheap-shotting the guy's driver anyway, it didn't come over very helpful, and I doubt it's even the issue at hand (would be easiy enough to reproduce and get reports on as it was a major driver). Prob'ly a clean reinstall would help to rule out a (much more likely) corrupt installation.

However, it's always good to check regardless, especially when this gets posted.

Well Mr. Community Manager, I respectfully disagree with your sarcasm. This wasn't a problem before. It IS a problem now. The only thing that has changed is YOUR code.

So, try again.

So you admit to running delicate software on outdated drivers and then complain that a modern game wants you to have drivers less than 6 months old. Hell - Windows Update nags you about Nvidia drivers now as well...

October 2012. OCTOBER. That is NOT OLD. Their code broke something that was working. How can you not see this?

With all due respect,

Piranha is a bunch of greedy, blind idiots attempting to plunder the intellectual properties of more intelligent men than themselves. They disappoint me with every - single - patch.

They broke something or they are no longer using a deprecated method? Code bases are amorphic things and what was there before may have been removed or no longer works the same way.

Arty, airstrike, and Highlander music works fine for me. You should realize that even if it does work for the vast majority, more people will post about it not working because they're actually having a problem.
