I'm confused by this. I don't have high ping at all. I play with 50 ping average every match. Yet the laser HSR did help so I'm hoping the ballistic HSR will help as well.

Champion mechs sound like an excuse instead of cheaper Hero mechs. Just fix the pricing model. We all know $30 for a single mech is stupid, no matter how many of them you sold.

Sadly, not much here that we don't already know about from yesterdays patch.

The Champion Mech idea was a surprise though!

How about instead of champion mechs... Make champion upgrade kits. The champion upgrade kit for any non hero mech gives you a few visual change options like a few different head looks or arm shield looks, maybe spikes on the knees or shoulders, slightly different chest plate... And the 5% XP bonus. But this champion upgrade kit can be bought and added to our non hero mechs we already have to make them a bit more worthwhile. And allow these kits to be taken off if we decided to sell the mech. So we can use it on another variant of that mech type.

Nice, this is what I wanted to hear. The sooner we get this in, the sooner HSR is released for missiles too, and then we've got a much better game overall.

I was hoping for a legitimate bug fix announcement, but they don't care about bug fixes or do they? .... perhaps when we stop playing maybe they'll notice?

They said "this week". Today can be one of them, but this update was promised for TODAY.

Did I miss about new maps? A whole month and one new mech chassis to grind the same maps again doesn't make me keen to put in the time or money for MC. We're almost 6 months into open beta and the content is dribs and drabs each month ;)

Judging by the description, aren't champions going to just take a pre-existing variant and slap on the +5% XP bonus (and maybe some fancy visuals)?

It may or may not be the 3L, but let's be honest. The 3L is the Raven Champion.

Tweaks to existing Ravens coincides with rebalancing AND/or a new hero mech... in this case... the "Champion".

Questions, if you would be so kind:
  • Will hero mech repainting arrive in the next patch?
  • Also, will fixes to thermal vision to make it useful be ongoing alongside other work or will we be stuck with the current implementation for the foreseeable future?
  • And of course bug fixes... how much effort if any is being dedicated to squashing the increasingly prolific HUD and minimap bugs? (rainbox minimap, stuck minimap, missing minimap, portions of the HUD disappearing, IFF carats and popups disappearing, WWWWWWWW mech name bug, running coordinates name bug, etc)
