Short answer: They will have Clan DHS operate at less than the 1.4 DHS versions.
Long answer: For balance reasons.

I thought they made DHS at 1.4 because the Clanners could carry more of them?

I dunno what's scarier - thinking about the fact that the clanners have a 6 PPC Stalker (but with more heatsinks) as a stock variant, or thinking about what sort of absurdity you can fit on the direwolf.

No it was becasue we would have jenners coring atlai in 4 seconds.

well you can put 8 energy weaps on a stock Diashi, and 8 CER PPCs weigh 48 tons and take 16 crits, (8 each arm which is dooable) for a massive 120 damage pinpoint alpha. you will shutdown cuz of the 88 heat BUT! you will 1 shot every mech in the game shy of a 90T or higher mech and when you do shutdown a light breeze will kill what you just hit

The Clan UAC/10 is a valid example that I overlooked, though. Also, Clanners don't have to run energy boats. They're more likely than not going to just run ballistic and/or missile boats to avoid overheating. Also, the CERML is basically a 1-ton IS Large Laser.

Nobody in their right mind would hold more than 4-6 of them, even assault mechs (sort of like our current 6 LL Stalkers). That extra tonnage will probably go into CLRMs and CGauss...

Nova Primary config:
12x cER MLAS
86kph, jump jets
10 tons of armor

HBK-4P
8x MLAS
64kph, no jump jets
10 tons of armor

Adding insult to injury, the Nova is about half as tall as its inner sphere cousin, making it significantly harder to hit.

I think the real issue with clans is that a hardpoint cant be a hardpoint, since OmniMechs can place whatever, wherever. Thus, put an AC20 on both arms of a "clan atlas" and see what happens? Omni = Omni.

Year Availability Clan = 2824 (CJF)
IS = 3058

ER Small :

Ahahahahaha the Stone Rhino. I didn't know this thing existed. 2xGauss, enough space to run 2-3xERPPC without changing much, Jump Jets. Also, the jump jets are named "Grandthrust" which is pretty amazing too.

Well, how did they?

Never played either, but what I have been hearing is that IS got to use a lot of Clan stuff, or they had their own equivalents. But in the timeline that PGI is going by, it will be years until the IS makes their own versions. And Clan tech isn't compatible with IS tech.

Now if they are going with BT canon, that means the Clans will have a large tech advantage for years of real time.
