I'm definetly taking a break away from MWO at this moment. PGI has been infuriating me with each patch they release. They've been getting glitchy and don't really release any worthwhile content to keep me playing longer. This recent patch, the amount of aimbot players I've seen in the last month, and the lack of making sure things are stable before releasing them to us has turned me off from this game.

I got EVE Online and other games to play, including other F2P beta games like FireFall that I enjoy and are very stable.

Once they give us the start of CW then I will probably revisit the game and start playing it like mad again

Where do you see them saying that? The last I read is they are looking at it. There is also a note that as of 3/22 ECM changes were about a month out (iirc). So if they think it's balanced, why are they looking at it, and why are changed due?

They are done looking

i felt like this until yesterday but then i realized the new "fog" in heat vision mode really makes snipers work for that damage!!
it's great, no matter if i can't snipe as easily it also means i can't get sniped the minute i'm walking off spawn (yes it happened in river city i spawn, walk 10 meters and my CT is orange...)

i agree about the autocannons being ridiculous but once missiles come back in full swing (cross fingers) then we're in the clear!
(i hope)

Being new and being a medium driver (love my Hunchback) I have learned being caught in the open = nastiness. I don't try to go up against the BUFF's unless Im standing behind my own set of heavys, but I still have a tendecy to charge down the guns from time to time <cough>

To me this is not a game that I will sit and play for hours, maybe that will happen when the Clans come and the House Factions are up and running. It is just a fun game for me to get in a few matches and have some fun customizing my mech after earning some c-bills.

If it is boring stay away for a few days...go hiking, biking, camping, and liking...then when you feel like blowing off steam hop back on. This is my two cents. For the moment, real life keeps me busy so I will go days without playing but read the forums for poops and grins and i always love these types. :D

Here is the "official response".
http://mwomercs.com/...f-guardian-ecm/

The TL:DR is...

Quote

Guardian ECM, like all features in the game, is very close to where we want it to be.

...

That said, there are two things suggested by the community that struck a chord and we will be looking into implementing soon:
ECM should have a dedicated hardpoint (tonnage/space does not change). That way ECM will always be in a known location on a Mech and can be directly targeted by attackers.
ECM should not cut out friendly signatures on the battlefield. Friendly Mechs should always be identifiable and not obscure team play.

S!

The game is getting boring gradually. Too much FOTM and cookie cutter builds. Sure they are allowed thus valid, but is that what we really want? That you go FOTM or nothing? It has gotten so far than when dropping to a 8-man we faced EIGHT CTF-3D "Poptarts"...C'mon! The other popular variant is 4 ECM lights, 3 poptarts and one PPC stalker or similar. Really innovative, right? Do that against same teams night after night and you do not even want to login anymore.

The bugs cause frustration as well the crashes and other things people experience. No content, no depth. Nothing to reach for after you get the Mechs you want. If the 15min of fame with your "pro stats" is al you want, then go for it. But I bet for the majority of casual or less competetive gamers the game offers next to nothing. Yeah, L2P or go play something else screams the pro guy from the corner  MEH!

Ahh..feel so much better now after venting. Back to gaming after a good night's sleep.

Been taking steady breaks for a while now. I used to play obsessively, grinding out the content -- once I had most of what I wanted, began losing interest.

I got into this game hoping for a reboot of MPBT, pinning my hopes on grand house v house fighting. Will have to get used to "mwomercs.com" once CW is implemented. It took me a while to accept that my MPBT dreams were doomed, went through the 5 stages:

1) hard-core denial, refusing to put together the hints scattered across the website showing that houses would be passive NPC "casual" structures well before the NGNG podcasts spelled it out with crystal clarity
2) Anger
3) Bargaining - posted epic long walls of text, resurrected other dead posts of epic walls of text on the subject. :-)
4) Depression - Reduced playing time, lack of interest in exploring new content in past few patches
5) Acceptance - Mellowed out, accepting it is just a game. More importantly, accepting it isn't "my" game.

Nah, its not that bad.
Its still the same game as it was 4-5 months ago.
But learning time is over for many of us atm. Its getting serious now.

I always run balanced builds, no one trick ponies or boats becouse i despise them...and im quite succesfull.
But there always will be people who will go the "easy" road and boat ac20...And die in every serious premade game.

I'm a bit annoyed that balanced build are completely worthless vs sniper builds since sniper builds can still deal dmg at closed range... that shouldn't be the case...

I'm bored with it not because of balance issues but just because I'm well, bored!

I started playing at the end of closed beta (about September 2012 I think) and the game is still exactly the same 8v8 killfest that it was 7 months ago. No new game modes have been added at all (conquest and assault are virtually the same gameplaying experience). So since last summer we've had TWO new maps, some more mechs and a few new toys. Absolutely nothing has changed as far as the core game goes and I'm getting pretty bored with it.
