Which takes time to do. Now they can either have to code it twice or just once with UI2.0. The MW games took more than a year to make, I am sure. Patience!

What a cluster...
Well, it's incredibly difficult to take this seriously. I mean, c'mon, "the game is doomed, because..." bugs and selling things. What part of that isn't ridiculous. Delusional would be expecting a beta build to be bug free. You have numbers on the size of the community? I sure as hell can't find anything like that.

They're screwing the community by generally bringing MechWarrior back into the public eye with a top-notch graphics engine and fun gameplay for....gasp.... no cost to you at all?! Yes, this line of thought is understandable. Dropping your cash to make your game better is generally considered pay-to-win, a very off-putting notion in the free to play business, unless I've mistaken your meaning in that. Ah, yeah now I remember, it's threads like these that turned me off to the General Forums and allowed me to play the game again, and see just how many great strides PGI's made in making a fun and free MechWarrior.
A top notch graphics engine they urinated on by making it run on DX9?

All of that is fine and doable. What is not doable is MWO working with this kind of system as its impossible to coordinate drops in a reliable manner.
Other than that, yes PGI is absolutely slaughtering MWO, comparable to those family food business's you see that thrive and have great reputations, then the owners decide to retire and sell it off to.....people.... then the new people switch everything around for cheapness, so they have the same products but they taste like cardboard and the portion sizes are suddently 1/4th as big while at the same time the prices went up by 50%.
p.s - i won a paint tin full of snakes for doing an awesome coloring in picture about 20years ago. That makes me an expert on paint and i deserve respect/awe/wonder/fans.

But.
As good as the graphics engine is, the implementation of it so far is ...not optimal.

The only thing you managed was servers. Managing servers is like servicing a vending machine: Show up once a week for 5 minutes just to make sure everything is in working order.
Once you actually contribute to Battletech in a meaningful way, please let me know..
Im not taking sides in this argument but do you really think being a server admin is that easy? or just a server admin in the capacity the OP described?

PGI you're kinda screwing the entire battletech community that has been waiting since EA's 3025 Battletech game for something "like this"...and have been screwed since Mircosoft decided to murder the mechwarrior/mechcommander series...We all waited a really long time for a good battletech game to come out..many of us jumped at this game thinking that it would be nigh impossible for PGI to screw up battletech given the community support that it has always received...and yet here we are..with a buggy game...that is so busy whoring content to make the developers rich that it has become World of Mechs...not Battletech...I for one having invested a considerable amount in this game due to the whole "OMG BATTLETECH" thing...am now left wondering if we're going to see PGI release a different title that is conspicuously well developed and funded...in the meantime...I dont really want to play a game that does nothing but make me wish Star Citizen gets done faster so i can play a game that actually has some concept of where its going..instead of "what content can we add that people will pay for"
I'm just wondering....are you stupid? Or do you need a reality check? If they don't have anything to sell, where will the money come to fund the testing/content for this game? If they were 100% F2P they would've got shut down in a couple of days because they would have no money. I for one gladly buy vanity items and hero mechs (and will for a long time to come) because they are neat and just make gameplay more fun (A mech that plays music when you kill someone, how awesome is that???). If you are gonna QQ about them making money to try to actually fund the game then don't let the door hit you on the way out. and I hate how ignorant QQers like you are because back in closed beta things were actually smooth, then Cry Engine 3 came out with an update and it completely f*cked up A LOT of their work. That is why the major bugs and lag shield were as bad as they were and why we have so many bugs now. Know your sh*t before you speak. Also people looking for help with the recent bugs (specifically polygon HUD) alt tabbing provides a temporary fix, though sometimes is persistent. Look at the most recent command chair post, hot fix is being dropped Friday for a lot of the bugs. Hope I was helpful.
