Even when it is a Davion design, and even when people will make kinky SSRM or SRM Dervishs i hope to see the Dervish in action...such a sweet Mech.

The head and antenna go in. I've also put a mount on the left torso to install an AMS for customisation.

Not much of an update, but I've got the arms in place and started work on the hips. Still not completely happy with the arms, but they'll do for the moment.

The upper legs take shape. Also, an incidental demonstration of the arms' articulation.

I like the Dervish and your redesign looks really good.
I'm excited to see the final variant. Some repaints would be nice, too. Good job!

Awesome work Sparks!

I'd like to see slightly more robust shoulders, but I know the original design didn't have them. Can't wait to see the finished product. Guess I can take it off my to do list.

Some slight tweaks to the arms. At Bishop's suggestion, reviewed the shoulders and slightly increased them by 10%. Also added some surface gubbins to the paddles (because I'm all about the technical terms for doohickies)

The lower legs are now in place too.

And a view from the back, since we haven't had one in a while.

I agree. The Dervish is "the better Trebuchet" and we would have a nice 55 ton IS mech in the game.

As we know the most efficient weight class.... :)
It really makes me shiver to think what the min maxers will do with that design...a 55t dual ER-PPC quad SSRM2 high mobile jumps sniper or similar madness

What's a stompy robot without feet to stomp with?

So, the meshing (for this variant, at least) is done. Here's an overall view:

And a shot of it alongside PGI's Hunchback and Dragon, who have kept it company. (Note: to be clear, the Dragon and the Hunchback aren't mine. Neither is the AMS system on the Dervish's left shoulder. They belong to Piranha Games)

Now that you mention it...

For modelling and animation, I'm using 3DSMax. Now that the mesh is in place, I'm preparing it for painting in Mudbox and Photoshop.

Dervish looks totally awesome, I feel you've really captured the MWO feel with this one, very impressive.

Sounds good to me! Still got some texturing work to go with this one yet, though. Got the easy bit, the windows, done tonight, but the rest will be a little more taxing.
