But I think the Urby should stay short and squat, almost exact size of the jenner itself but with bigger armor skirts and of course I wanted that massive cannon to be propped up almost above the shoulder this way when the urby turns to the side the arm can take the hit to make the light mech more survivable so it can spread damage around.

Oy.

You do that, because the current one looks like a **** in your pic. Your finished Lancy looks alright though. But then try NOT to be a douch-e and start your OWN thread to show your stuff, eh? It's called courtesy.

The mechanic is not in game yet but maybe giving the urban mech the ability to fit heavy weapons by reducing their weight slightly when equipped? Or even just make the mech weigh less but keep it 30 tons so it has more options.

I could see them working well for supporting heavy or fast assault mechs, even defend them from enemy light mechs. It would be hard to dodge attacks from something that can can aim 360 (can't really stay behind the enemy).

Lastly, they could be an exceptionally stable weapon platform compared to other light. Maybe give them the ability to tackle enemy lights as if it were a hunchback (tho it should not be able to tackle anything bigger than a Cicada).

If you're going to change the urbanmech to the point that it's no longer an urbanmech then why not just implement a light mech that can do those things? I'd rather just have a Hollander.

btw, dig the Lancelot a lot dude, and that is saying a lot considering how bad the source art is.

than start a Hollander topic bro. But it's about 5 years too early. Also define what makes an Urbie and Urbie. Everything I mentioned aside from possibly the engine buff, would stay well within their design.

Yes, mate: The description from SARNA
:
The UrbanMech is designed for just what its name suggests, urban combat and defense. This is achieved by making the UrbanMech the slowest light Battlemech in existence with a top speed of only 32.4 km/h and a jumping distance of only sixty meters. On an open battlefield, speeds that slow would be a death warrant for any light 'Mech, but in the streets and alleys of an urban labyrinth, even with its slow speed, the UrbanMech is free to fight and fade back into the city as it sees fit

If it's supposed to fade into the buildings - it should also not be taller than them :-) Just a thought

I'm pretty sure I didn't quote you. A timeskip would happen before they got around to implemeting this mech anyways.

So it'll have a small laser and an AC2? Nice, looking forward to see it fighting an AC40 Jager.

Naw, didn't think you were. We got desires for differing mechs. I am just saying, push for it. Eventually, they might listen. Or, they might not, lol. I like the Hollander, myself, but am more of an Urbie guy.

Actually, ac/10, LB10X or AC/20, plus JJs, and being harder to see up close than a Commando. I'll bite your bloody ankle off! And adding an ECM version... well.. SHOULD be done.

I like version one for it's looks and also because it being smaller makes it harder to hit.

The OP artwork attempts are appreciable, but I feel it is still too chunky.

I feel that this is still the best:

I voted for version 2, I like it a lot. However, I can't get behind them having crazy arm arcs if they're already going to have 360 twist - it would be pretty redundant.

Because that's what its supposed to look like.

I prefer some of the 'old' looks/artwork than the new 'modern BRO Style™ artwork.'

@SMD MadCow,

It would be. That is why I stated that SOME of those quirks might work. Ain't trying to shoehorn them all on one chassis. Could even vary which variant got which.

@General Taskeen

In some cases I do also. That isn't the " old school" though, the 3025 tro version is. But to each their own.

Kill me now, before I have to endure 130kph Urbanmechs.

In short - I don't trust PGI to limit the speed of the Urbie.

Lancemate: Lance leader,i...no that can;t be right.

Lance Leader: Lance 1 report! what do you see?

Lance 1: it looks like...an Urbanmech.

Lance Leader- Say again Lance 1, scanners show that thing moving at a ludicrous speed. No way it's an Urbie

Lance 1: Sir... it's gone Plaid!
