Wang is fine... if you mount anything else but a AC 20 into its arm...it is your fault - not the fault of the Wang
If you want to run it with speed and Gauss - the D
if you want to run it with 2 AC 5 - D or A

I love my Yen Lo Wang. But then again, I love AC20's. Combined with 2 ML lasers in CT. Standaard engine, zombie time!

The thing with the Wang I found, is that you cannot play it like other cents. You are not the skirmisher running in to soften the enemy up and run off out of range to circle around again.

With the Wang you are a clean up crew. You wade in after the assaults and finish off mechs. Single shot dead move to the next one and so on. If you go up against fresh mechs they will have a lot of fun with you. If you come on wounded mechs they wet themselves. Then the cockpit smells like pee and that is no fun for anyone.

I've seen people take out 4+ enemies fighting as last player on a team in the Wang. Properly handled, the thing is brutal.

I've seen people do that in a Spider, doesn't mean the mech is good.

Yup, your WANG needs a buff, we all know it.

Well....I have killed ALL the players on the other team with my Cat C1 (2 LLasers, 2Mlasers, SSRM 2s)....ONCE LOL. Just so happened I was the last shot on every death. I still did well, (about 700+ damage), but I was just lucky.

I'm just saying that a YLW getting 4 kills doesn't necessarily mean it puts down consistenet high damage figures, just that hit happend to get the last shot in on 4 mechs.

I'm not saying the YLW is bad, just that figures like that can be misleading.

You knew exactly what you were getting when you bought it. There's no room for buyer's remorse in a model that's reliant on impulse buys.

Cant that be said about any mech though? I have seen miracles performed by a half dead hunchback with only a single medium laser in the head.

The Pretty Baby's only real advantage is being able to put in a hugely weight-expensive engine to barely break medium mech speeds and is, in general, out classed by almost any other awesome as far as hardpoints.

That doesn't mean anything in the real world, especially when the PB can totally out maneuver the other Awesomes (as well all the other Assaults and most of the Heavies).

Hmmm... then we never met in an 8v8. I always use my YLW there.
And to loosing against lights. 1 is for breakfast, 2 is just a cause of priorities, from 3 up to more it becomes a pain. But nothing you will not be able to handle.
With a YLW piloted right you can even face more than one assault at a time and win.

Any one of us would just take out your 32 armor arm and probably forget about you until you were one of the last remaining mechs. Focus fire is an amazing thing, which is why easily-neutered mechs are hardly seen in 8 mans, where the best of the best play.

You can sit there and spout about how great you are at protecting your arm against a single target, or about how you can "fight" multiple pug brawlers, but one or two alphas from any of our brawlers would render any YLW combat ineffective for the remainder of the match.

My favorite mech to play. I don't have any problems with YLW.

If you think so. I am often in 8vs8, but never met you either. So maybe your ELO is not high enough to meet a YLW. :D
But I don't want to troll around. We will never find the reason why you don't see a YLW in 8vs8 and why a YLW works good for me in pug, small groups or 8vs8.

I am fully satisfied with the power of my Wang.
As long as my Wang is standing erect I am doing well.
Do not touch my Wang!
Unless of course you are young, born and currently are still female, very hot and have cleared such interaction beforehand with my wife.
