If people want to spend $30 on a single mech then spend it. Just don't go belittling everyone else who voices their opinion that it's a ripoff.
"Ha ha you must be poor if you think a $30 mech is expensive!"
That's the kind of attitude I see from a lot of people justifying their Hero Assaults which makes them look like out of touch idiots. Basically the Mitt Romneys of MWO.
On the flip-side, someone who thinks that current mechbay pricing is expensive is like the lazy college kid asking for someone to buy him lunch when he could get a part time job on campus and pay for it himself.

For me that $30 value can go towards something on Steam, a nice dinner for two, or a couple drinks with some friends.
It's all about substitutes. And when I have limited time, there are plenty of things I would choose over MWO.

Exactly. I value my time more than my money. If I spend my precious time on MWO, I might as well spend some money in it to make the most of my time. If it's not worth my time, it's not worth my money either.

FrOdO, you can rest assured Heavy Gear will not be targetting the Angry Birds audience, so it will have to make it's money from a relatively small group of players, which means the prices have to be high to keep it going. That, or it has to be P2P or P2W so that everybody paying small amounts isn't optional but mandatory.

Games are business.

@massom grim personaly u forgot about one group of people in ur post on page number 2. U forgot about group of people which say ok am gonna spend 30 on this and they spend it. They dont look how much each **** costs becouse they are not buying exact thingies but they just spend cash on it becouse they wanna support creators and game couse they have fun. For this it wouldnt really matter if hero would be 15-30 they would just buy some other stuff to that 30 price tag like camos, colors, cockpit items. Personaly i am like this if i wanna invest into something i just money into it how much i can afford. But i am not gonna buy one item for 30 at this point i just better to add 10 more and i got whole new game for at least month of gameplay(you have to take into account also not all mechs u might buy u will use for upcoming years). But if mechs would cost 10-15 i wouldnt mind to put 30 into game get both of them or just get one and buy some camos and colors. Becouse i know i cant spend daily or monthly 10 on game thats why i never played any subscription game and i just like one time payments which gives me enough content.
And to Medic isnt little bit logical if somebody is complaining that game is expensive even on range of 30 dolars so that he probably he doesnt have enough cash to buy that most expensive 100$ MC package lol ?

I feel the same. Everything seems incredibly expensive as far as MC is concerned. I bought $30 MC the other day, and was surprised at how little I could get... A hero mech, and a cool colour. Maybe two. I'll just get premium time when I have long sessions over weekends.

Many have asked for prices to be lowered, but someone is obviously mad enough to buy them, so I guess it's falling on deaf ears.

Never understood the reason to argue about pricing. If the price is too high dont buy it, nuff said. They see the numbers and if prices need adjusted they will but anyone who knows free market pricing you charge high to get early adopters then lower the price to get everyone else. Its not rocket science.

Personally, I won't buy the Heavy Metal. Not my "thing." I did buy the TDK, enjoy the heck out of that ankle biter. And more power to the folks that want to buy the big pink beast AND those that don't cuz it ain't their thing either.

Me, if I were in charge, I would make all Hero mechs cheaper. Go for more purchases for smaller bucks. Then, when all those cheaper Hero mechs fill up everyone's mech bays, make some more MC on selling extra Mech bay slots. That just feels like a faster way to get players to spend MC (and then have to buy more MC). But I have ZERO marketing or sales data to confirm that plan as any better than the one PGI is using, just the feeling.

If I were in charge of mech pricing I would keep it the same but give people a free mech bay with their purchase. My second job is in retail and a big hook is something free. You can get people to jump on a 1000 dollar lumber purchase if you give them a 5 dollar box of screws for free.

PGI must think they are someone like GamesWorkshop releasing a limited edition real metal miniature or something, with the prices they are touting. A fool and their money, eh?

The point was that, you don't know how much money anybody here makes. You assume too much! That's the real funny part about the whole thing.

You could be an ***** who spends 20 dollars on a sandwich.

You could be a rich kid who has a disposable income because of mommy and daddy.

You could be the CEO of a large company.

You could just be a fool.

I love assumptions! They are very entertaining.

Well its obviously working for them. If it were not the prices would be going down. I have not bought anything other than founders because nothing has piqued my interest yet and tickled my right price point yet. When it does I will buy just like anyone else. Now had they told me my 4 mechs with my founders pack needed an additional purchase of a mech bay for each who knows what would have happened. The premise of the founders mechs coming with a mech bay was how I pictured future mech purchases. We will see my friend.

LOL that's right, I'm sure those with tons of disposable income balk at a whole $30. I mean I know there are rich people who are cheap because they think they can take it with them. If you are saying that you make loads of money but somehow the prospect of spending $30 on something gives you real pause, you aren't making as much as you think.
It's pointless to argue this because like you said this is the internet and you can pretend to be as wealthy but "frugal" as you want and no one can prove otherwise. Of course empirical evidence says otherwise but you can be anything on the internet, frugal rich dude is just one role, these folks and industry people appear on these forums everyday. People aren't keen on admitting they can't afford something when it's possible to say you don't see the value.
