It's not the age that makes players have trouble shooting.
It's the alcohol. MechWarriors seem to love drinking and I seem to remember at least 1 clan back in the mid to late 90's that was all about piloting while drunk. Those with better tolerance can still shoot straight, it's often the young guys with lower tolerance that have a bit of trouble.
I'm 36 and can still shoot straight when drinking... most of the time anyway.

If you're making a poll like that, at least think about it first.
I mean, c'mon, did you really think the people above 31 are rare around here?
Ok... the forums do indeed have that impression even on me, but we're still talking about MW fanbase.
P.S. That poll I linked was once deleted actually, back then, it had twice as many votes. Altough the perfect curve seems to indicate a big enough participation.
wow, there were 6 ppl that voted 81+

Gotta rememebr That video games hit big in the 35-55 range when we were younger.
Big MMO,s know their big paying audience is 35+..There is a lot of "bird in the hand, screw that we want the 2 out there in the bush." Going on right now in gaming.
Older people will pay a $15/month subscription no problem (and expect a lot for it). A lot of younger people will scream bloody murder at a regular bill,, then drop $35 in $2 payments impulse buying.
Publishers are driving the whole industry for the young people, but the older people actually have more money, to spend on things we like.
You can see this in action on Kickstarter where we are all giving money to get remakes /sequels to awesome games from the past made, that the publishers won't poke with a stick, because they don't think yoonger people will play/have heard of them. here is one from a Commodore 64 era game of greatness (that lead to the Fallout Franchise)
PS. get your mech off my lawn!

Yeah. There are maybe 15 things I'm following.
This kinda explains why a lot of founder types here are so grumpy all the time. We have 25+ years of history with BatleTech.
In many ways a lot of us would have preferred a kickstarter to a F2P,
F2P is a modern type with different economics, focuses, and release timeframes..

The problem most of us have now is finding time to play as much as we would like to. Games tend to take a back seat to family, kids, work, etc. ironically now is the time when we can afford "high end" gaming PC's.
Being 35 I don't consider myself old, but I wish I had the time to play like I did when I was younger. Hard to pull all day/night gaming sessions now.

And now, I brag about my Medal of Duty: Battlefield Honor Promotion stats.

In all seriousness, though...
I can't help but to confess that I've played many a matches with a few drinks in me.
I think it also has to do with the amount of military veterans that love this game.
Booze and shooting go hand in hand. I don't care what the government and safety regs say.

I happen to be 14, and I assure you that I do not act like that, never have, and never will.
