In my Home city of Cardiff we gave a 21 gun salute, the Queen was not there to hear it but we damn well gave it!

Sorry, I have a hard time taking someone who speaks of austerity while wearing a million dollar hat seriously. You guys over there do know the royal family is of German decent and not English, right? I don't see how people can respect a bunch of blue bloods. They are bat **** crazy from inbreeding and they don't give a damn about you. That's for sure.

I apologize. I am a bit biased when it comes to "royalty" or any kind of authority. I love the people on the island so don't take it personally. If it helps, I hate the people in charge over here even more. They are all elitist scum and they all have blood on their hands. Again, sorry for the mini-rant.

Well not really. The Royal line of Winsor does tie into the Hapsberg/Colbert line but it still ties into the Stuart/Plantagenent line. They just weeded out the French influence.

One thing you must know about Britain is that so very few of us are, in fact, of 'English' decent. Never mind the fact that I'm Scottish, but we have had such a varied history filled with invading forces, refugees and a like that the concept of "English" is a bit of a misnomer, in actual fact. between French, Italian, Scandinavian etc etc etc...we are genetically speaking, as 'English' as Americans are American.

So do we care that the royals aren't 'English' as you put it? Does it matter? Certainly not.

And just for the record, 'England' and Britain are not interchangeable values.
