Forget Mad Cats, it's all about the Vulture and the Masakari. Love the irony of turning an enemy's weapons against him.

And to all you vat-borns: Look me in the eye and tell me that "Warhawk" is a cooler name than "Masakari" whilst meaning it. Same with the Thor and Loki. Face it clanners, we're just better at naming things than you are.

Why would I buy a dirty clan mech? I may force myself to use clan weapons, but I refuse to run a clan mech.

And this goes double for anything with an OMGLOLWTFBBQHUGE "Shoot Here" honker like the schnozz on those stinking Timber Wolves.

Medium what? You mean the 35 ton light Cougar? Or is there another I'm unaware of?

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Cougar

"The design the scientists chose to modify was the Adder. Though the two 'Mechs are visually similar and share the same weight, the Falcon Cougaris slower and better armed, though it only has five and a half tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor."

Do we know what the clan line up will be? If it's going to be a Kit fox, Storm crow, Timber wolf, Dire wolf line up then I'll just sit back and laugh as the world explodes because that's going to be OP as all hell.

But yes, I'm saving up to buy every clan mech as it releases.

I dunno about that. Both Fire Moth and Dire Wolf sound better than Dasher (lol) and Daishi (wtf is Daishi anyway?).

In general I'd agree with you. Mad Dog sounds hilariously dumb compared to Vulture, but its not always a given.

I am definitely NOT buying a Clan mech until I headshot one that has it's body entirely intact, my team wins, and I live that round. At that point I will buy some MC and buy said mech. My own little way of collecting salvage of sorts.

I'm going to assume you mean the Timber Wolf. Why save up for one of those when the Urbie could be just around the corner.

The clans did have superior warriors. They're faster, stronger, and sharper, overall, than Inner Sphere pilots.

What they are NOT are superior soldiers. Like some Draconis Combine units, it's easy to take advantage of their 'honor'. And even when they're not bound by their 'honor', the way they fight makes it easy to draw them away from their teammates and into traps or ambushes. They frequently forget what their objective is, in the pursuit of a 'good fight'.

RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!

Bane 2 - This variant is effective at both medium and short range. It trades out the autocannon for four Ultra Autocannon/10s. In addition, it is capable of spitting out almost twice the damage of the original. Fourteen tons of ammunition allow the Bane 2 to stay in the fight for a long time. BV (1.0) = 2,106[2][4], BV (2.0) = 2,502

I normally don't have a hard on for DAKKA, but this, this would be unstoppable. I'm a big fan of the PPC, but if I had one of these I don't think I would ever pilot anything else.

Saving? You think you'll be able to buy one for C-bills when they could sell them for MC and retire in luxury?

P2W

edit: lol. Had to say it. Probably won't be. Like you said, they might make all clan mechs Hero mechs though.

I doubt it. Clan mechs will be so ridiculously expensive with CBills that , unless you start saving early on, you won't be able to afford them. A Mad Cat cost over 24 million CBills. If you want to Master it you're looking at 72 million in CBills alone! That is, of course, assuming they stick to the current CBill pricing scheme. At those prices a lot of folks will say screw it, I'm buying the Clan mech outright with MC.

Imagine its September 2013. Thousand of players have saved billions of c-bills to buy Clan'Mechs. Then the announcement hits: "To play Clan, you have to start a new account"!

I can so see this happen. <_<

This over and over and over.

I'd much rather have the Unseen/Reseen/Alex-seen than Clan-tech.

This also works.

More than likely though the Clan Tech will be released Highlander style. Champion/Hero mechs available for MC for a couple of weeks and then 2-4 weeks later purchasable via c-bills. PGI would be able to run the game for a decade if they did this.

It's like this, but replace King Tiger with Clan Tech...

you realize of course that the vulture and the mad cat will be limitedly useful due to the uselessness of missiles in this game O.o

I also foresee those same people buying up Orions, Fleas, Blackjacks, and whatever else is released in the meantime as well. Not to mention those of us who don't get to play 20+ hours a week to save up for it means that if we want Clan mechs with CBills, now would be a good time to start saving. Although you are right, I wouldn't be surprised if the Clan account was made as a secondary account for players.

Except that's changed several times, why wouldn't it again in the next 5-6 months?

I had a stash of c-bills for the Mad Dog but it's gotten eaten by jagermechs and treb's and soon to be finished off by highlanders. I'll get back up to space steiner rich status soon enough. Assuming they fix the bugs.

saving cbills for these mechs is pointless they be so much of a grind to buy i doubt many will bother to farm cbills for them, most likely just buy then with mc, that is if you even can buy them with cbills
