No, I'm not charging 3 assaults standing shoulder to shoulder that you barely scratched.
No, I don't give a crap if its wasting your time, don't suck and you would won't leave lights in a 1 on 4
Yeah, I'm trying to string them out, I can't do that if I stand there and die.

Oh and before you call me out for not fighting...have more kills than me.

These things crack me up

1) Your KDR means nothing in the current Meta
2)You suffer no penalty's to dying in the current Meta
3)You not standing and fighting, keeps all your teammate, and enemy teams dead mechs locked in the match until you are caught and killed, or time runs out, or you cap the base.

So yes, to many people, you look like an absolute jerk OP, because you've quite possibly held up the mech that perhaps they are attempting to rank up. You're essentially cutting into C-bills/hour and gxp/xp per hour. While to you this may not be a big deal, to many, this is the only point of the game right now.

We have no "end goals" in MWO right now, other than Make money, buy mechs, outfit mechs, fight mechs, rank up mechs, repeat. Because of this, you're "wanting to survive" cuts into the bottom line of other players.

I didn't really care about surviving, I was trying to pick one or two off.

....well I was up until Inahurry started whining, then I shifted into **** him off mode. If I gave a damn about my stats they would be quite a bit better.

I also don't care about your c-bills for hour if you are losing me money derping up a game.

So, were you going for cap or just running like a *****? Because if you werent trying to cap, then youre just trying to protect your KDR, and people who feel the need to protect their kdr are...
Well, you know ^_^

Well I would say that you were doing precisely what you should have been. Kudos for bravery under fire, and attempting a win despite the odds. I dont care what anyone does, as long as they TRY. People who hide are just cowards who cant handle a death.

no, again, see my last post Thomas.

THERE'S NO CURRENT ENDGAME TO MWO! Because of this the only thing that matters is the C-bills and XP you're making Per Hour! This is the only way to gain ground and the only way to really get anywhere.

For a free player, you get 4 mechbays... those fill up pretty fast, and if those 4 mechs are all you end up wanting to use, then you max out those mechs pretty quickly, but maybe you sold 1 of the 4 mechs you owned, to make room for a new one, and you're attempting to level it up. Well now you need to beable to get that mech in and out of matches as fast as you can so that you can get it mastered. But when someone decides to run around like a chicken with it's head cut off... with no real reasoning other than "survive" when KDR means nothing and there's no negative impacts to dying. then they just cut into my overall enjoyment of the game because all that's left is to rank up these mechs.

You realise, even on a loss, if you play quick, and die quick, you can make fast c-bills right?

I don't care that you don't care, and here's where the problem crops up.

I'm not going to be able to sway you to my way of thinking on this matter because you have a notion of the overall game, it's meta, and your own ideal of how to play, and I have a different ideal here.

As I said, the way I see it, given the game as it sits, right this very minute. The only point is to make money. Why?

1)there is no penalty for dying
2)there's no focused goal, no fighting for planets, no fighting over contracts, nothing of the sort [not till CW]
3)there is no end game, all we have to focus on is either the win/loss [which at this point doesn't matter] or C-bills and XP [which allows you to rank up your mechs]

I would like to say I put out 3 good points here as to why you should follow my same ideal, but I know that you wont. Your focus is on the win/loss. And that's fine, that's your goal. But the win/loss, gives you no real progression in the current game, the only things that do that are xp/gxp and C-bills.

No illusions about winning, that was 210 tons against a busted up 35, I would have tried for a kill or maybe two, you never know get a leg and cap deal.

Unless my team ****** me off, I will always try to do something to win.

The other notable was when I was trying to split up two ravens and my jackass team started calling grids for the enemy, I just ran around till they found me and ran out of bounds that time. F them all.

I'm what our Goons friends call "space rich" I have 52 mechs, all with engines, all fully pimped all ready to drop. I really don't care about xp pre hour, I made 14 mil in the last day, largely solo, also largely in my little raven.

So take your fast C-bills by not sucking it up and we won't have an issue.

I wouldnt say a coward, but there are two types of players.
1: I like Raven 3ls because they are kinda op and if youre good, you can rock ****.
and
2: I like Raven 3ls because I think theyre really good even though I suck, therefore making me a mediocre player.
I wont guess which the OP is, as I havent the data to make an informed opinion.

Ah, I figured it was something like that. That could be the only reason you ignore everyone else.

You have a sociopathic view of things. Now it makes sense. Though now I'm also concerned for you. It's very easy to come off with that attitude on the internet. It's a little thing called "Enforced Internet Autisum" it goes hand in hand with "The greater internet fuckwad theory"

Because you cannot see people on the internet as "People" to you they're just code, letters and numbers on the screen that have no real emotions, because of this, you laugh when someone get's upset at your actions... because you see it as just text on a screen, or a video of someone raging which is funny. You cannot be empathic with that person because you're not getting the cue's we get in real interactions to understand that your actions are upsetting, or hurting a "Real" person. And the willingness to flat out not care that your actions are angering others shows a disregard for your fellow man.

I'm quite sorry this is your outlook on people who populate the gamespace you inhabit.

When are you going to accept that not everyone wants to play the game the same way that you do?

If I'm in a match and happen to be the last player left alive on my team while playing a light mech vs lots of heavier and slower mechs that can't catch me I'm going to try and split them up and cap as my first choice to make it a win.

If I can't do that I will try to split 1 from the group to kill 1 at a time. If that doesn't work either I'm running down the clock - deal with it, I don't ******* suicide just so whiners can get their mechs back faster. I don't give a **** if players have their mechs locked in the fight, they should have bought more mechs if they have serious problems with a match lasting 15min.

I'm in the group of players that cares about the W/L as well as the K/D ratios but it's for my own use. I don't go posting stats around everywhere, I generally watch the changes in my stats to determine overall effectiveness of mech builds and tactics.

Until you pay for my sub, don't tell me how to play, got it?

Empathy? On the internet?

What are you new? That is the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard. I've been playing online games forever. If you want empathy go talk to a priest.

Not entirely.

Though I see where you could make that argument stone, while I may get angry over his actions, I atleast, understand his position, However he's looking down on everyone else, from his throne of "52 fully pimped out mechs". As such he doesn't care about anyone else on the playing field. That's a sociopathic view of the world. Getting angry at someone for treading on you like you're dirt, not so much sociopathic.

Well, I dunno, priests or sensitive chicks. Perhaps *** men. But seriously, they clearly werent concerned for how you wanted to play, so whay SHOULD you be concerned about the way they wanted to play. Treat people the way the want to be treated, and since they treated you that way, I see nothing wrong with you treating them the exact same way; As if their way of playing the game was invalid.

That is SO overgeneralized and SO very wrong, youre making an emotional response that is clearly wrong to defend your viewpoint even after it has been pointed out to be wrong, AND using a statement made AFTER you responded and made your view as some sort of proof, which it isnt. U no good at argumentation, bro.

Its not sociopathic, its a rebuttle to your c-bill/XP silliness. I am ahead, and I didn't get there by "going for quick games" in fact its pretty rare that leave a game before the scoreboard is up. Like ever.

Usually if I do its because I'm logging anyway.

And this is why we have hackers, and script kiddies and asshats that just get away with it.

I've been playing online games for nearly 13 years now, I'm well aware of the toxic environment that the internet open's up. But instead of just accepting it, I've studied it and put an effort to learn why it's like that, and the reason is because you're not getting the emotional, physical cue's of emotional distress that you get when interacting with someone IRL.

Also instead of giving in to the "dark side" as it were, I choose to attempt to empathize with those on the internet. And to not be "That guy." I play by the rules, I don't hack, I don't cheat, and I don't **** people off because it's funny. Because I've been tread on all my life and you know what, It's a ****** thing and it sucks when you're treated like crap, by family, or by other people.

So do forgive me if I'm a bit more, understanding of your position on the internet, I try to make an effort to care.
