If you're playing the assault game mode and you have that many assault mechs on your team, there's no excuse for capping. Just saying. Even if you are the last one left, when your opponent is an Atlas with ER PPCs. Of course my team actually had a few mediums, 3 heavies, two assaults, and myself. Only one complained. One guy said to go capture. Then I got three or four LOLs and a "WTF" along with a single "What are you doing?" while I danced on the final Atlas's head. It was the other team that had 7 assaults and one centurion.

To be perfectly honest I don't play the Ravens 2x and 4x on conquest. They don't really have a place there.

I've had 3 kill runs and scored top damage in 4 different trial mechs. They're still crap.

Yeah its not a bad mech, I've got a 3.25 W/L ratio and a 2.17 KDR with it. Just dusted it off to finally finish of the elites and bring it to master....

Being relatively new to the game I find this thread constructive.

Why? The first mech I bought was the 3L and subsequently, I bought the other two variants and have now mastered out all three RVN variants.

Since I have not really expanded my horizons much yet (I only have a Hunchback and an Atlas in addition to the RVNs) I cannot comment on how the RVNs compare to anything else really but I will say this: I enjoy them.

I've made the mistake of trying to use them in ways they are not really well-suited for and learned not to do that anymore.

My K/D ratio is abysmal if you are into stats but frankly, I'm not a stat *****. I'm a team player and the goal is to win and/or to have fun.

I gotta admit though - now that I've seen how others consider the RVNs to be little more than "crap", I will savor any kills I get all the much more.

So I actually prefer the 2X to the 3L, but only because it's more fun to play. Definitely not optimized if matched up to a 3L, but I really can't stand the generic circle-strafe and fire-missiles mode of the 3l. That said, I play my 3L much more because if I drop a raven it's an 8 man, where of course I take the 3l. The 4x sucks, I hated grinding it, I sold it gladly.

I use 4 med pulse, 1 streak.
