http://mwowiki.org/wiki/Highlander

It says here they all have 1 Ballistic, 2 Missile, and 2 Energy, except one has 3 Energy and 2 Missile. If so, do I really have to buy 3 of them?

Gawd, I hope this is wrong.

EDIT: Say hey! The page updated now and I guess it was unfinished when I read it earlier. They are all a good deal different now. So just ignore this or write about which one you like.

PGI will probably add a hardpoint or two to them and will more than likely be in different spots.

pretty much

the highlanders variants are pretty much the same mech thats been downgraded and upgrade various times. and those iterations have always been on the right arm ballistic weapon. whether its an AC10/Gauss or AC20. but there is one variant with the PPC in the right arm.

hopefully PGI is creative with the hardpoints and help distinguish the variants from eachother.

or they could not. it would be interesting to see a line of mechs with very similar variants.

HMMM? Well you are not forced to buy them?

Wait, i am guessing you got the Hero mech? Then you only have to buy them if you want to max out the skills... you can always sell them later.

I see three different mech possibilities...

Gauss Right Arm, (ER)PPC Right Arm, or AC/20 Right Arm...

each three has a different purpose...

I think I got this right.

732 has 2 Energy, 1 Ballistic, and 1 missile
733 has 2 Energy, 1 Ballistic, and 2 missile
733c has 2 Energy, 1 Ballistic, and 2 missile
733p has 3 Energy, 0 Ballistic, and 2 missile

That's what my notes from yesterday say. I could be mistaken. Seems like there will be ONLY ONE in my garage

So we are getting an AC/20 Highlander?? I thought that the fact it has an elbow actuator meant an AC/20 could never fit...what changed?

Well, I hope there is some hardpoint variation/addition from their stock loadouts among them. What's Mechlab and owning 3 variants for if there is no variation to take advantage of?

the 733C variant mounts the AC20

though we are unlikely to get that once since it would require 3 reticles.

I'd've really liked one with three (or four) ballistic hardpoints on one arm, or four missile racks. The mech has enough faults already...

They remove one of the actuators like on the Yen Lo Wang.

the 732C is not cannon. its a player made mech. so its likely to be a typo.

and in a Q/A the devs answered that the variants woudl be 732 733 733C and 733P

Ouch... that's extremely uninspiring. Especially the lack of Left Arm weapons that aren't missiles.

Jumpjets must end up counting as a weapon hardpoint or something in their balancing.

I really hope you're right, 'cause I want my AC/20.

If they do include the 733C, I really hope it's got 3 reticules :P, 'cause if not, that once flexible SRM6 launcher will be a bit dampened.

yeah it would be nice for them to lay down the system for that. if we ever hope to get the victor which would also need 3 reticles

What I don't like about all of the CBill Highlanders are the 2 energy hardpoints in the torso which is a waste, they'd be so much better in the arm like the Heavy Metal. I feel the Cbill Highlanders are getting pretty much shafted, missile hardpoint in the arm is meh.

You dorks, it even says on the wiki that this is the minimum possible # of hardpoints given the stock variations.

They are almost assuredly going to give each Highlander 7 hard points, similar to the Heavy Metal. Most variants have an equivalent number of hardpoints, or if they don't, it's for a reason (such as the Spider's ECM, or ability to mount a ridiculous number of jump jets.)
