My personal thanks goes to all those who actively worked to ruin this game for the old fans, those who liked the books and the older games. You are the best!

How nice! You're very welcome. <3

Just my opinion here, but if they really wanted to nerf High Alpha Builds, all they'd need to do is add HUD fade at high heat levels. Like in MW4, whenever your heat got above a certain level (75%, I think), it would flicker and flash, and basically become unusable. Getting hit by PPC fire would give it a wash of static.
Seeing as how these are Inner Sphere hand me down chassis, and not High Tech Clan fresh off the assembly line designs, have the HUD start to play up as soon as you run hotter than 50%. Have it die entirely above 75%, or flicker worse than strobe lighting at a party. Good players will be able to compensate. Bad players will learn to manage their heat, or QQ on the forums.
Another option is to have weapon fire hit the target according to its mounting point on the mech, with ONLY Arm weapons having convergence. Once again, Good pilots will be able to factor this in when lining up their shots.
Anyways. Just my thoughts on how to do it without any of the "Nerf Damage! Buff Heat! Give us Rotary Autocannons!"
With all the practice I've had having no HuD, I don't think I would even notice the change. I've learned to count the notches on my cockpit's windows to figure out where my crosshair should be.

And this is why they make us take english every single year for 12 years of our life, only to teach it two to four more times in college. After 14 years of English, a gem like this still shines through.
God Bless America.
