Alright, when the Heavy Metal Highlander came out, it was rare to see one and having Jump Jets was all well and good, now that it's available to everyone and EVERY FREAKING VARIANT has Jump Jets, it seems like in 95% of the games I play, over half the people are Jump Jet camping because they are too chicken to come out and fight. I am not sure who came up with the idea to give every variant of the Highlander the ability to equip Jump Jets, but it's making the game less fun.

In other words, new FOTM Mech is making the game less fun because of a stupid design.

It's a valid strategy, and fairly easy to counter. It's not like the mechs are moving...

Wait till the tourny is over... right now thats all you see, cause its the easiest thing to play as an assault. Why risk going toe to toe with somebody when all you have to do to do decent dmg and get kills is sit on one side of the hill and jump up and shoot once in awhile.

Actually with the release of Alpine and the nerf to SRM's - the game was already heading down the sniper only path, the highlanders just turned that dirt road into a 6 lane highway.

I saw a guy get matched against 8 highlanders an hour ago. How do you take a base from even 4?

Its another "flavor of the month" just like Ravens, AC20 cats, streakcats, and all the other one trick ponies. Eventually, they will fade away and there won't be many left, but the few out there that have no clue how to brawl and survive. Ravens are becoming fewer on the battle field as well as the splat cats, streak cats and all those other "flavor of the months". Right now with the tourney, the majority of poptarting highlanders that you see are "going for the gold" so to speak.

I don't believe this. Now that HSR is in effect, the only Ravens that will be a threat are the ones that are actually good pilots. The rest will be dead before they have a chance to do any dmg. Not to mention, TAG, PPCs, and other good ECM mech pilots are a pretty good counter.

I am not impressed with PPC being a soft counter to ECM, if I can hit you with PPCs I don't really care if my (non-existant) LRM friend can hit you, I can... Ravens provide an ECM bubble, they don't have to be good pilots for that (and then base cap when things get too rough for them).

We could argue all day, but only time will tell...

jumpers getting you down? just move cover to cover and always keep moving unless hidden behind a massive hill or building. i think jumping is stupid. its a predictable path they go up and then down. no cover when up. a team with comms should be ready for the jumper and focus on it. or just ignore it and fire and move cover to cover and kapow!

Every variant of the Highlander has jump jets. It's kind of what the Highlander does. It jumps. That's what it's known for. Being a jumping assault.

As for the poptards, yeah. Go play a different game for a while. TF2's lovely this time of year.

I wish I could pause the premium time I bought 2 weeks ago so I don't feel like I'm wasting time or money while letting the storm of poptarts pass. Lesson learned - I'm no longer buying premium time.
