The Federated Suns is the oldest established house resulting from the Terran Hegemonies formation in 2314. realizing the Terra's expansionistic tendency would eventually lead to reconquest Lucien Davions political astuteness resulted in the signing of the Crusis pact in 2317. Thats not to say there were no growing pains in those early years as civil wars, and assassinations of Davians did make life hard for few hundred years. 1) The Federated Suns can proudly say they have never perpetuated a massacre like the Dracos committed on Kentares during the succession wars.2) Hans Davions vision hepled held the clans back in the Federated Commonwealth (Thats both the suns, and lyran space).
Davion was an exceptional mech pilot, and an astute polotician.

That's true, they didn't commit a single massacre or war crime on a single planet in the scale of Kentares.

They committed a much bigger one over many, many worlds by starting the 4th Succession War because Hanse Davion was butthurt over a body double plot by Max Liao.

Ignore him. the cappies are still butthurt over the fact that the feds nearly wiped them off the map with little resistance in the 4th succession war.

yes 100 million dead because of the grand imperial gesture of starting a war to impress his new arranged bride

"butthurt" indeed, rilianv, "butthurt" indeed

fyi it's hard to argue "we're morally superior" and "awww you're just mad we slaughtered 100 million of you, go cry us a river" in the same thread, but congratulations on the stunning level of cognitive dissonance.

Now if you were really educated in the Federated Suns I'd tell you to ask a foreigner what those big words means

What do we have? In the not too distant future, we will have Prince Victor Steiner-Davion, the undisputed hero of the Clan invasions (Perhaps second only to Morgan Hasek-Davion--oh look, another Davion!), perhaps one of the most talented Mechwarriors ever born in the Inner Sphere. But, until then, we have Prince Hanse Davion, also known as The Fox for his shrewd military and political tactics. It's said that war with the Federated Suns ends before it even begins, if only from the threat that The Fox might join the fray himself.

Aside from the heroic leadership that inspires us all, the Davion Federated Suns boasts what may be the most advanced University in the galaxy, the New Avalon Institute of Science, which is all but solely responsible for the recovery of all LosTech discovered to date. There is also the highly-respected military branch thereof, The College of Military Science. The prestigious CMS produces thousands of cadets of the highest quality and skill each year, giving even the greenest of our military an edge not seen in any other successor state.

I hope, knowing all this, that you will come to realize that the Davions truly are the greatest force in the Inner Sphere and join us in our conquest of the galaxy. Fight hard. Fight with honor.

That's all well and good, but the FWL was around even before that.

No, just nation-wide persecution of all people of Asian descent. They're the only House to ever do that. You could list that as one of your interesting Davion facts!

His vision of what? Shooting things and making deals for supplies? By that standard I'm the next great military/political leader just waiting to happen.

Hanse's crowning glory is starring in the least interesting story ever: the biggest guy beats the hell out of the smallest guy and at no point is he ever in any danger of losing. We are supposed to cheer for the biggest guy.

You should add, that without operation Goetterdaemmerung the Draconis March would be in hand of the DC now
The CC was pressed by Andurien and crippled by traitors - so not a challenging target

The 4th succession war was started because of Max Liaos Body Double Plan, and not to impress anyone. Starting that war at the wedding party was just a PR stunt. And it wasn't even because of the fact that Liao commitet an act of war by trying to kill and replace Hanse Davion, but because he demonstrated he was willing to destroy an innocent mans life to reach his goals (talking about the man he brainwashed to be the Davion double). He didn't just risk the life of some volunteering agent, he extinguished everything that man had been and made him forget his whole life so he'd actually believe he was Hanse Davion.
That total ruthlesness towards his own people made Davion believe that Liao was a threat to everybody under his reign and ultimately to the whole Inner Sphere, and that's why the war was necessary in his eyes. The Suns never committed war crimes in the confederation, and there was no intentional slaughter of civilians or anything like it.

As if the reconquering of the St. Ives Compact wasn't a sibling rivalry and a civil war just as well. The simple fact that we're talking of smaller states that can naturally cause less destruction doesn't make this morally superior in any way. The difference is, that Sun Tzu started that conflict because of greed and to satisfy his ego, and Victor fought to end the Terror Regime of his insane sister. When he came back to the Sphere he gave his lost throne up and joined ComStar just for the sake of peace, but she made him come back.

Well the OP wanted propaganda and i think Oppi did well to deliver really good propaganda.
But even when writing he must have the feeling that the story is to clean - not even the slightest appearance of dirt, shame.
Davions are always the moralistic winner of every war they started...hell yes they started the war always with a PR - action.

If Hanse thought the CC was a threat after infiltrating two people in to Max Liao's inner circle who could have killed him at any time, while also outnumbering the CCAF 3:1, Hanse had no sense of perspective. So either he's bloodthirsty or an *****.

Thats actually only so much true that the Davions didn't killed an entire population. Worse, they took a whole population of a planet and made them slaves to work in their mines on another planet - and that predates Kentares.

1. So, because Hansel Davion couldn't take a freekin' joke, he destroys the lives of countless millions of innocents?
2. In Maximilian's plan, ONE person was affected - and not even killed. That dude was about to become a preeminent power in the galaxy. I'm sure that's a bump up in status from delivery boy.

Chesterton!

Max wasn't ruthless to his own people. Where'd you get this propaganda? Romano on the other hand ...

1. Sun Tzu recaptured traditional Capellan world - with Capellan histories, and Capellen people under the heel of li'l Vic.
2. Victor joined ComStar because they wouldn't stop knocking on his door. He tried to shoe them away, but the ComTower just started to make so much sense.
