Suddenly realized that even with premium time, I will have to farm for 2 days (assuming 3-4 hours of uninterrupted play) to get 8.6 million C-Bills. The time is better spent elsewhere. No qualms with parting with 16 bucks. (it's half the price of HM)

Rest of the variants can be purchased with the C-Bills I get while XP farming for the 733C.

The point of this thread is that sometimes, buying non-hero mechs using MC is not as stupid as it sounds. I just realized that sometimes, C-Bills are better spent on stuff you can't buy with MC, such as Engines and Modules.

After I farmed for the RS and the D-DC I couldn't stomach grinding anymore and used MC on a 9M and a K2. That was way back when.

Some people may think you are nuts OP but your sentiment is why the Ftp system is so rewarding for devs. Logically you could work for one hour at your real life job and make enough to get that shiny new mech. Now assuming you didn't need that money for anything in particular you just saved yourself eight hours of grinding ingame to get your mech. Logically it does make a bit of sense. However the downside of this is that the game basically just became a form of work to you. Otherwise the "grinding" would be fun and the new mech you get after eight hours would just be a bonus after eight hours of fun. Its a weird catch 22 in a way.

I'd rather not get the third HGN if I couldn't afford it with Cbills.. MCs in my book go first for mechbays, then eventually premium (but I won't go for premium anymore until the game is stable enough), hero mechs. The HM tempts me but it costs a fortune and I regret to have got the Ilya in the past as I avoided the Flame although I always loved Dragons.

I want to see many many more hero mechs to chose from before getting another one.

If you already have a hero mech you've got the perfect grinding tool already, I love my cataracts and even after unlocking master I've kept all 3 as each has a different build.

When I first started I bought an atlas d for Mc after buying my first mech a dragon and not really liking it that much.

It's your money spend it as you like, some people blow £40 each weekend on booze that's good for a few hours of fun, we spend it on content that will entertain us for alot longer.

I have premium time-- I bought two 30 day deal when it was on sale. Even so, grinding a HGN from scratch is a bit too much for me.

I did have fun playing with my Streakcat last week. Got around 12 million C-Bills but blew them all on engines and Modules.

I hate to say it, but I think you might have a problem. It takes me about 3-4 hours to farm the whole 8 million with interest.

The price of some of the stuff does take a long time to grind. It's an advantage of working a single chassis - I only need one 300XL for my three Cats, and that saves me almost 10 million C-bills. Maybe I'll buy those other engines one day, just to have complete mechs, but for now I swap engines and modules.

I won't write much cause I know it's a grind reading it but 2 days to get a mech is nothing, play some Final Fantasy or Granturismo to feel what grind really is.

Go on! Go the whole hog and ask pgi to just give you mech it's such a grind playing a GAME to get stuff for it.

Why should I play all those hours for 8.6 million C-Bills with old mechs that I grew so tired of playing, when I can just buy the new Highlander, which I can easily afford--thus actually having fun?

Instead, I can devote those hours for reaching level 61 with my Mechromancer in Borderlands 2, or finish the Saga campaign in Total War: Shogun 2, or try to get out of silver league in League of Legends or finally to get serious in my Path of Exile play. I got games but no time.

I'm with you there I bought the two non-founder atlases I have because I couldn't be arsed to grind 30 mil to buy them both and kit them out properly.

$50 is less than an hour and a half at work, and significantly less than I charge customers.
