I think the heat penalties have merit and should be seriously considered, to limit the boating of PPCs, and also alpha pinpoint striking.

Golden days those were not. They were hella fun, sure, but we've come a long ways.

While I enjoyed the single player ones that came after the fact. I've yet to find a multiplayer version that i feel has gotten it right.

Or, hey, consider that EVERY assault mech is built stock for long range combat, or a mix of long and short... Hmmm.. maybe the giant slow robot isn't supposed to ONLY brawl...
