The thing is we never saw what PPCs could do because their hit detection was always really wonky.

I feel like with ballistic state rewind the PPCs got out of hand, because now we see what they can do when players can aim, and arent hurt by lag shield.

The only weapon that comes close to the PPC is the gauss rifle, everything else is subpar, even medium lasers feel subpar these days, and they are still one of the top most economical weapon.

How? Cool Shot gives you one more alpha. One 6 PPC alpha can't kill a mech, so at best you might be able to finish off the mech you're working on but that's it. Them you're back to being screwed.

Seriously people, any mech is dangerous in the hands of a skilled pilot, even more so when that pilot is on a team. But in PUG land, as soon as we highlight that Stalker and see 6 PPCs, we all go for it. Even dumbass PUGs know how to beat these things (except the ones that ***** about them on forums I guess).

Remember when everyone including the devs were adamant that coolant would not appear in this game thus ruining the point of heat management?

4 ppcs Stalkers can throw 40 dmg alphas at great range a dozen times with a decent coolshot... just look at the tournement leader board winner.

He runs one of those.

I absolutely agree with the coolant. The pay to win was an issue with the first implementation. However, many of played MW4:Mercs. That game had a high alpha jump sniper meta. Coolant was one of the major reasons. The ability to shed 24 heat in 2 seconds is very powerful for PPC builds. Normally a 6 PPC stalker would shut you down on the second shot, for a very long time. The coolant flush is what enables people to make that second shot without shutting down. Apply that to a 4PPC stalker (a reasonably hot build before the flush) and it can operate for way longer than it should. You are operating at +20 heat per volley if you fire on cooldown.

Coolant and third person are going to push them game to be all about the high alpha PPC/Gauss builds with jump jets.
