<p>Don't copy/paste the ultra autocannon jamming code. Masc should generally last at least long enough to let you flee from a MASC-less enemy light if you make contact under unfavorable circumstances (although I would imagine that all lights would end up taking MASC and we'd end up with capwarrior online for a while...) Maybe have PPC hits cause MASC to lock up if its activated when the blast hits ;)?</p>

You do know that MASC could/should be able to jam the first time you fire it right? It the chance you take using the tech!

Dude. MASC freezes when it fails! Total leg paralysis! You have no idea how many times I have froze a Mech with MASC at the first dice roll! ;) :blush:

My plea is for those who QQ about EVERYTHING not start making statements that it should be available on all mechs, like ECM

Which mechs should have it? Just lights? Would medium mechs get left even further behind (literally as well as metaphorically, now) ;)?

i think if it fails it should fall over due to the momentum also cause structural damage

Legged Mechs are not supposed to have 1/2 movement rates and are supposed to fall over also... don't see this happening. Would like it, but don't see it.

Rolling dice doesn't belong in a real-time game. I think you know that though.

Here is the easy solution to MASC:



Produces heat. Keep using it in the critical zone and it can break. Simple.

Did I suggest dice? I thought I suggested a increasing percentage chance of failure. ;)

If it had a timer similar to JJs which you could use it and suffer no issues I would be okay with that.

You could even progressively shorten the timer for the more times you trigger it.

A percentage chance is an arbitrary virtual dice that the player has no control over.

"Will I jam on the first shot?"

"I don't know, the game will decide for you."

A skill-game must require the player control, and not this garbage UAC jam or implement a MASC with "Will it activate or will my Mech explode, let's let the game decide."

That would make it OP I think not a bad suggestion but the big negative to MASC was the escalating chance to cripple the Mech. I want to keep that in this game.
