I recently came into possession of a band saw, and will now be building me some mechs. (pictures will come when they are finished). Obviously I will paint them in the colours of clan wolf's alpha galaxy, but I do not know what colours they displayed before the refusal war, as CSO only shows post refusal war clan wolf (already split and flat grey is boring). http://camospecs.com/Unit.asp?ID=13

AFAIK, the Wolf-in-Exile colors are those of the pre-refusal war Alpha Galaxy.

Aff, so far as I can recall, Wolf-in-Exile runs the original wolf colors. I know currently we use Gray, Black, and Dark Red or Orange depending upon your cluster.

If somebody can't choose color for the wolf unit - try to pay attention on main keywords on camospecs:
When not using appropriate camo or designated scheme, Wolf units paint their equipment in flat grays.



This colors will be suitable for all Galaxies of our Touman.

Cool link for clan paint schemes I was just guessing what they used and I was way off. You think changing to Cinnabar primary and turn the white secondary black also would be more accurate?

True.. But it is not iconic and it is not even free. We should be recognizable, quiaff?

Alpha uses a brown or reddish-brown paint scheme, with dark accents.

Michael Stackpole, creator of Clans and main writer about Clan Wolf, describes wolf's mechs color as grey without any other colors. But you are right - we must be recognizable.

I recall that the Golden Keshik's 'Mechs on The Rock were grey indeed. But maybe it was for camouflage purpose (just think to a full orange camo in HPG Manifold).

I can see why you choose basic orange but why not add any black or grey highlights?

1) Because there are already many little gray and black parts, especially in the leg and arm joints.
2) They are not an ideal camo, but what i currently use. A perfect camo may use a gray.
3) Because i have not many MCs and i am going to spend them for 'Mech Bays.. And a Cameron Star in my Shadow Hawk' cockpit
4) I do not own the PC gamer colors..

Some galaxies have exclusive colours, not just flat greys. Also jordan weisman created the clans, michael stackpole wrote battletech books based on weisman's work.

also as i said before, grey is boring, and I wanted a more interesting colour scheme for the models I build.

The forest green is not the camo you are looking for (unless you are actually looking for the Crusader Wolves' Alpha Galaxy!)

it's a shame, the wolf spirits generally look sharper in their camo then the dire wolves, but i'll be sticking with the warden colours.

Seriously? I never liked that forest green with gold. Looks like too much Jade Falcon

I have a soft spot for falcon and jaguar colours (sans the yellow and green, that just looks garish), but my heart still lies with the wolf.

I love the Snow Raven/Raven Alliance colors. The repainted RA Timberwolf in the concept art thread is wonderful.

The jaguar colours are a spotty grey&black. Totally unlike the Wolves-grey.
