Particularly keen on seeing what was on the HGN-732s that score at or above 10,000 points.

I played better than I ever have, many rounds in the 700's a few 800's and was just DESTROYED on the score board..7500 and was proud...

but....

I also want to know these loadouts on the Atlai that hit 9,500-12,000 ... just holy cow.

I have hit low 1000 one time, not during this tournament, and some people averaged 1200 x 10 matches... just wow....

Brought me down.. :)

Marathon Gamers with no responsibilities to work or family.
10 best scores out of many many MANY games.

Typically boating PPCs with perhaps a Gauss Rifle.
Focusing not on killing, but on picking apart as many components as possible.

Poptarting optional.

I wrote up a long post, then accidentally hit the back button and it went poof.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...c1dbb798080d378

Anyway, here is my build for a 4 PPC Stalker. I don't use it much since HSR and 2000 m/s muzzle velocity make it a point and shoot mech. I pug almost exclusively, mostly because my roommate likes to sleep and I'm pretty sure I'm loud enough as it is.

If you want me to give you a writeup on the tactics to successfully get greater than 1000 damage fairly regularly, either respond here or send me a PM.

A write up would be excellent. If PGI repeats the exercise it would be nice to have a primer to study.

Sorry about the "poof".

It´s pretty simple.

Quantity.Quantity.Quantity.

#1)You need to be a decent player.

#2)If you can afford the situational luxury spread the damage over the mech as much as possible before you kill him.

I could only play a couple of hours before the tournament was over as i was away over the weekend and got two matches with 1000+ damage and one match with 1290+ damage.
Those are the macthes you collect.

That was enough for #14 Heavy Metal/ somewhere in the 80´s for Highlander overall and 170 for Assaults but there was still a massive gap till #1.

if i had the time to play for the full event i might have had a shot.

My Awesome, the PAINBOW.

Got me to second on the awesome Awesome boards, 45 overall. Curse you Bata and your better...ness!

Sometimes i'd switch out one of the PPC's for an ER, but found I did better with the vanilla PPCs while acting as a striker rather than a sniper. Also, ripping out one of the PPCs and the MLAS can net you 2LL, which offers better DPS and light deterring firepower, at the cost of a little survivability.

I was confident I could get close to Bata's score, as I've had a fair few games that would have scored high enough in the past, but the last day or so of the comp was utterly brutal. Most of the matches were over in the first 5 minutes, as the graceful ebb and flow of regular battles quickly degenerated into straight up all-or-nothing knife fights, making it hard to be patient and rack up the damage.

It was frustrating, glorious, awesome, chaotic fun. Congrats to all involved.

Edit: modules; sensor range, target retention, info gathering. Carried cool shot for 18 matches before I used it and was underwhelmed.

5th place in 733C

HGN-733C

Modules: Target Info Gathering and Advanced Sensor Range.

Tactics for this I used to find good corner on the left side, so I could easily fire as all weapons where on the right side of the mech. Also poptarting and firing UACs as much as I could while airborne, but this tended to draw too much attention, so better results came from flanking and staying on the ground. Also could get 2 shots of the ERLLs on a good jump.

UAC jamming was not an issue as when poptarting you end up in cover anyways after each jump, so the weapons where ready again after JJs had recharged.

Also what Hobietime described above about the party crasher tactic. I would arrive late on scene and shamelessly tried to use the rest of the team as meat shields.

Best source for scoring high dmg for me was conquest mode in Forest Colony stalking theta and in Alpine Peaks stalking epsilon. In that mode teams tend to split up and have to move in the open to cap points. So they where good hunting grounds.

This is excellent guys, thank you for sharing! My smurfynet mechlab runneth over.

Also, thank you for sharing the modules used. I'll have to make the suggestion to Smufy to see how to incorporate the modules in his mechlab.

4th place Heavy Metal was piloted by a friend of mine. Gauss, LPL, 2 ML, 2 SRM6 @ XL330. I don't know the exact build, but this should be pretty close given or taken a DHS and 1t of Gauss Ammo: Heavy Metal / CptGensman

The build is pretty self explanatory except for the energy weapons. He went for the LPL+ML combo because of them having a comparable range. Not having the same reload time only supports the heat efficiency even more.

Thanks for the AWS-9M build, it's very close to what I run for that, but didn't use in the tournament.

It reinforces that I'm not very good, since I didn't break above #400 in any board this weekend. I only played 40-60 matches, but I never had a match over ~750 points, much less 10 over 1000.

I was battling for 3rd place in Atlas leaderboard until I saw Druid put up an insanse score, so I decided to spare myself the torment and just play with friends lol. Was replacing all my scores with 4 digits, but knew I wouldn't get to 1200.

But... but... you guys are doing it all WRONG! I thought using an XL in an Awesome made it magically explode?

The side torsos are very small in an Awesome. The CT is enormous. The added XL risk is fairly minimal. Also, how else do you motivate 80 tons over 80 kph and still carry PPCs? ;)

I'm looking at the builds as people post them (again, thanks for contributing) and I think the "PPCs are everywhere" was overstated.

I'm seeing Gauss, AC20s, SRM6s, ERLL and LL as well. Good to know.
