the removal of GD will fragment every other discussion. I understand it was an attempt to silence the overwelmingly bad ton that was dominating the GD... but now, it feels like a common "SHUT THE FUNK UP!" to the community.

idk, it´s hard to feel invested when the community hosters don´t understand the nature of the frustration.

Remember, polls don't matter.

This was done with purpose. They don't want to have a community anymore. Too many displeased customers telling others why they are upset.

General discussion was too jumbled, grew old and bloated very quickly. Not going to miss it.

Normally I am not big on conspiracy theories, but this kind of makes sense.

So now we can't have fun in game and in forums. Time to put this game to rest.

This is the part that kills me. I thought they were hell bent on drawing in new players?

Bad idea. They are just sweeping it under the rug rather than meet complaints head on to find solutions to these problems and improve the game. For the game to be successful they need to be tackling these problems. There are several much Anticipated games coming up that will nodoubtedly take away from this PLAYER BASE. which will be nails in the Coffin ;) .

I'm completely at a loss as to what portion of the forums to request my threads be moved to. They were "General Discussion", not anything else.

Main problem:

Quality posts about topics that do not fit neatly into an existing category will get much less attention. No one will know to search for them (i.e. people don't search randomly for unusual topics, even if the post would be very relevant to their interests and the development of MWO). Also sometimes they simply won't even get posted in the first place, as there's little point if it won't get read.

Secondary problem:

All constructive posts are likely to get less attention by the community. Basic software UI knowledge: making people do a lot of clicking and navigating to go into many areas will significantly reduce the amount to which people do it. So by splitting the forums into many sub-regions, less stuff gets read.

The one benefit is that this will reduce random rage-y posts. But probably not by much, and that was never such a problem as to make a general discussion area not useful.

PGI, thank you for your consideration. Help us help you make MW:O better.

I'll say here what I said elsewhere, in a now dead thread (the first of many, I think):

This isn't meant to draw in new players. It's meant to dismantle forumrage and criticism. It'll probably work.

They decided to burn down the forest instead of having to deal with their customers.

You type that as if it's a bad thing.
