You would have. I made the original version for the 72nd Assault Trinary, adapted it for the 304th Assault Cluster. Changed the images from MWLL to MWO for just CGB and now I have it like this. :)

Also had this one for a while: Posted Image

I need to clean up my PC so I can get back into the pilot seat.

THere is something about Mechwarrior that many other games just lack.

Just submitted an app on the site. Looking forward to getting TS3 info and doing some drops with CBG. I've been a long-time fan of CBG and clan mechs (particularly the Timber Wolf and Vulture chassis). I'm an experienced MWO pilot with several mastered IS mech chassis and years of general BT/MW experience from TT to the Tesla/Tesla2 pods from VWG where I competed in regionals/nationals and held masters titles in the Avatar, Mad Cat and Mad Dog chassis.

The last time I investigated one of these official/unofficial clan communities, I spent a lot of time waiting between drops, getting referred to by my mech designation instead of my name or username, and being told by a very upset old man after he ran out and died on his own that it was my fault for "not following orders" despite my very heavy carry of the game, and that it would be "getting noted in my review for failing to follow orders, because this is a very competitive oriented clan and following orders is important." despite it being a random battle where the situation is very chaotic and two times prior the strategy given had been very... ineffective.

Would you say this kind of mentality is exclusive to the wolves? Because I have no time to babysit children or to care for old men when there is damage to be done and glory to be had.

I cannot & would not attempt to speak for the Wolves. All I can say is Clan Ghost Bear is made up of young, middle aged & older persons. We cater to the competitive as well as the casual. As in the lore, we are family oriented & will work with whatever situation you have.

In the end, you are the one thinking of joining, therefore you are the one who must make the decision so you should check us out firsthand to see what we are about. If you like what you see & you think we would be a good fit then fill out an application.

You can check out our forums at www.ghost-bear-command.com or visit our TS3 server at rubidium.typefrag.com:9545

(pw:cgb).

We look forward to meeting you.

It depends on what you are doing in the Clan. In our competitive crowd, yes this is almost exactly what you could expect. Our Comp team is, well competitive because it is how they prefer to play the game. However, when these same players are dropping with non-comp team, it is quite relaxed. We are all here to have fun and we are easy to accommodate the fact some people have family or work, or even a life *gasp*

You play when you can play. For some it is once or twice a week, others it is a number of hours a day. We are, for the most a mature group and expect the same from our members. We are a very relaxed group. As the Loremaster said, check us out. Ultimately it is you who is joining our unit and only you can prevent forest fires, ehm I mean decided if we are right for you.

It has been a week since the last post, but hopefully everyone has just been out hunting!

I am a proud member of a mercenary unit called The Seraphim, currently in service to House Marik. While I have no intention of leaving the unit, I feel a strong call to Clan Ghost Bear as well. We have several other members that feel the same way, so I am here to gather some information, as well as share some.

Think of us as the Wolf's Dragoons, but where they were tasked to scout for Clan Wolf and find weaknesses, we were tasked by the Bear to find allies and supply lines. Now that the invasion has started, we are happy to report that we have found a family-oriented and spiritual source for both. House Marik, holding planets well outside the invasion zones, is the perfect ally for this, though we must continue to act as mercenaries to avoid the attention of the Inner Sphere powers that oppose are noble cause. In return for these allies and supplies, all that we ask for is the honor of continuing to follow the path of the Bear, our father and our mother.

That being said, are your Trials of Position and Bloodright exclusive to those in your unit, or would it be possible to achieve honorary membership and attempt to earn our Bloodnames as envoys between your Clan and our unit?

May we always have the foresight of Jorgensson and the courage of Tseng.

Respectfully,
CWO1 Cimarb
Assistant Lance Commander of The Seraphim Regiment "Shields of Faith" and Speaker of the Ghost Knights

ISC HOMEPAGEPosted Image

Let's face it. Not all of us have the time to spend day after day drilling and nailing down the latest meta to perfection. Maybe you've thought about getting involved with some of the major competitive leagues out there but decided against it for now just because you don't want your 75 ton pride and joy to be scrapped for junk parts and you'd rather just PuG with a frosty glass of liquid bread and some good friends. Well ladies and gents, I present you with 'The Every-man's League!' The ISC aims to provide a fun and laid back bracket tournament system for units that generally wouldn't compete otherwise.

@ Cimarb:
in the lore there already is such a unit, known as the Ghost Brigade, and there is a unit with that name already. and to put it bluntly, No, if you are not a trueborn clan warrior you can not earn a bloodname.

@BlackPhoenix01:
we are already involved in 2 leagues, i do appreciate the invite, but i do not think we have any more time for any more leagues, there are few others we are discussing in addition to these 2.

Unless you are related to one of the original Clan warriors, like Phelan Kell.

I am definitely not here to ruffle any feathers, so I apologize if I did so.

I am quite surprised how similar my idea was to Taylim's, but considering that thread has not been updated in over a year, I am not surprised that I didn't see it when I looked. It would have been the same approach vector, but debarking with Marik instead of Liao. Anyways...

By the looks of it, that unit has already been absorbed into the main Clan Ghost Bear forces, as the website just redirects to Ghost Bear Command. Also not a problem, but that does not mean the offer/request is not valid. In the unit's lore, it says that trueborn and freeborn warriors were brought in 3046. I will conform to whatever lore you want as it is made up anyways.

I am as much a trueborn as anyone else, as I currently have no backstory. I did pick a singular name to show that I was unblooded, though. If it will help, I would be happy to make a backstory that fits whatever constraints you would like.

The only issue I have is that I am loyal to my existing unit from a faith perspective, and am currently in a leadership position, so I am trying to work around that by offering a lore-based reason for the whole thing. I would be happy to work with Taylim, or anyone else you deem worthy, to establish the story and would be happy to drop with you guys on the days I do not have commitments with The Seraphim (Mondays and Wednesdays). We are very active as a unit and have a good relationship with the guys from the FWL, so I consider this a very similar opportunity.
