You are the reason why I and many other people stopped playing the game. Its the reason why I can go to almost any video game website and ask people about MWO and they ask why I would even want to play the game. Its why I wont recommend the game to friends.

The inability to fix Assault mode and the unwillingness to provide an alternative that isn't quite so banal, is one of the biggest frustrations with this game at the moment.

Its simple just dont allow cap in like 1st 5-10 min of a game so there will be no base cap rush. Get one friend and go play duo light - preffer jenner F two of them can pretty much own anything assuming if u are good u will eat every ravens, and even heavys need to be scared if they solo.

Matches don't even last 5 minutes unless it's alpine and the lower team decides to hide rather than go into death valley.

I'm not even going to read this whole thread. But you know what is dumb.

When people say "Removing bases will make it so we have no reason to bring lights".

Guess what? That means the game is bad.

They should have dynamic drop points, so the point of a light mech is to actually figure out where the enemy is. They should have dynamic base spawns, so lights have to find the bases and direct the team towards it. And if they want to cap it, then make sure the amount of time it takes is not just about how many light mechs you can cram onto the base.

They should have an actual information warfare pillar instead of just ECM so the lights can take advantage of it.

I only dislike the turbo-cappers. I drive mediums a lot of times and I REALLY try to get back to defend the base if it's under attack, but a couple of stealth lights with cap accel module can finish a cap in like 30 sec. They aren't there to distract or draw enemy forces. They're there for the quick cap win, which makes the game boring for everyone else.

Maybe they should get out of the slow mechs then.

Define "slow". My medium goes about 80KPH. Are you saying that EVERYONE should just play lights?

Slow.

I drive lights because

1) I'm pretty good at it
2) If I don't no one does and I lose for it.

So you can be part of the problem, or part of the solution.

Standing the base can be pretty distracting.

Sure. They got me to RTB. I just wish they would step off when I got close to kill me instead of just completing the cap. That would be more fun.

I do try to scout and keep an eye on the flanks, but those little ECM'ed lights are pretty hard to spot sometimes.

If you made it to base they CAN'T complete the cap, one friendly mech standing in base stops the cap completely.
