Not on conquest....well it may be.

Making it worse isn't going to make the game any better. Its just like the people that in one thread complain that this game is turning into MW4 and in the next support hardpoint sizes (from MW4)

You call it trolling I call it logic, of course, I'm a rare breed that doesn't like driving assaults. I can, and I can well, but it isn't very amusing or interesting.

This proposed KotH mode might have flaws according to some but at least the people who are supporting it are at least trying to come up with new ideas for game play.

They have all been floated.

I would be all for it if KoH only happened on the BIG maps and the objective wasn't marked, you had to hunt it down. However, I'm pretty sure they don't have that capability so that makes the games even less dynamic than the current assault mode (i.e how many pass caps have you had on River City)

So no, I don't think its a good idea as presented.

So what my options are lock into one game mode and give up any variety, or handicap myself for one of the modes because all of the assault pilots aren't willing to?

Sounds fair to me, too! When I want to play a light or medium, I go play Conquest. When I want to play a heavy and assault, I go play Assault. You are locking yourself out because you ONLY want to play lights and want to punish anyone who doesn't.

I don't have to lock myself out in Assault, there is more than one win condition.....one that isn't slug it would with mechs that are 65 tons heavier.

I'd go for TDM first, at least there you have to hunt around, not everyone zerg to one place and have a knock-down drag out.

Well, the reason a lot of people choose to play in Assault is because they want to slug it with whatever size mech they choose.

Great! So you're in for a TDM game mode?

And I replied in the other thread. Just because a match didn't end in a cap doesn't mean the people playing in it enjoyed having to run back to base in the middle of a fire fight to prevent a cap.

Wow, you could even play that on a map that was just 2 hallways and a nice circle in the middle >.> ...

I agree they need a game mode where ppl do not have to think about anything but pointing and shooting..These QQ threads are taking up space..

Glad we agree that we need a game mode for just "shoot 'em up" kind of play. So please stop telling us that we don't need it.

Please note that there is a difference between what I "don't like" to what I "enjoy." I don't like having to return to base to stop a base cap, but I would do it if I'm in the position to. But I would enjoy a match more if I don't have to.

I love this idea the OP suggested, thats the one thing I want so bad in this game and would make it the best f2p game I know.

I have given up and am just playing lots of planetside 2 where you can actually get nonstop combat, I actually give Sony my money but PGI is more focused on gameplay affecting consumables than adding any actual new gameplay. And lets not get started on them blowing up the forums so they don't have to listen to what people are talking about.

I liked the timer mechanic in King of the Hill mode of Team Fortress 2.
Flipping the capture point to your side is influenced by number of friendlies but after that you just have to defend it while a timer counts down. The "hill" is often in a poorly defensible area. TF2 had respawn. I am generally against respawn in MWO as it influences players be more reckless plus spawn camping would be a money factory.
