You of course, are right.

When They tried to pass 3PV on us, after swearing til blue in the face that they didn't want ti themselves (though unlike the mouth breathers, I do know the initial posts on it left it OPEN for future debate), and the entirre community rages and posted 100 pages against, 1000s of no votes on the Poll... that was just noise.

When they tried to add pay only Consumables, and the community was able to get together in one spot and let the Devs know that we did not accept that, of course it was just noise.

When they again announced 3PV, thousands of voices saying we STILL didn't want it (even though, in the end, it changed nothing) was just noise.

After being roundly ignored when help tickets were sent, and the community raged on GD about the missile issues (TWICE that I am aware of), that too, was of course, just noise.

Because, of course, having a place where hot button topics, and easy gathering of people and info together, is just catering to the mouth breathing "PGI ATE MY BABY CROWD". Because having the ability to make Threadnaughts on large issues, or those repeat posts (which would be called a "TREND", dear sir, which supposedly is the only thing the Devs look for... and which now, conveniently cannot occur, as the new format allows the MODs to summarily dispatch any "Trends" as "repeat posts" and redirect us to a conveniently neutral "Official Post"... despite the part where the Devs said they don't read single Topic posts, but again, TRENDS) Do you see a trend developing here?

And no, the "draconian measures" were not justified, or they would, by definition, be "draconian". they are a rather blatant method of keeping the illusion that "everything is wonderful ALL the time in MWO land", and to make it well nigh impossible for the community to effective react and give voice to LEGIT complaints, when PGI or IGP step out of line, be it intentional, or the usual Ekman "shoot before aiming" method.

In short, your secret handshake club is in the end no different than the pre-pubescent Quasi-Anarcho Sydicates the lovely posts from KONG and others filled the Forums with toxin from, the only difference being, by all account that you are kissing PGI's azz instead of kicking it.

couldn't of said it better myself. The dev's listened to massive threads in General Discussion BECAUSE the community had ONE location to actually Discuss. Even if threads and opinions didn't go my way or mesh with my beliefs I valued the freedom of having a place to share...that place sadly is gone as well as the valuable feedback provided in it.

you people do realize that these forums are owned and maintained by the developers right? i am pretty sure none of us signed any sort of contract or are paying any rent.

it is their house they get to decide if and when they want to move the furniture. from the majority of what i have seen coming from the "displaced" people of the general forums, i don't blame them for removing it. from what i have seen so far i don't doubt that the majority of what was on the general forums was a waste of server space.

you are not displaced victims. this is their house. we are guests.

this will likely get me flamed and hated from every angle, but if i can get even one person to wake up and realize how absurd this is, then i call it a victory.

wow, so if I go in to Starbucks and ask to speak to a manager because my coffee tastes like xxx, and I get told that I am in "their house" and I'm just a guest and whatever my experience is I should just be thankful for being able to step foot in their establishment, then that is their right? I volunteer to give them money in exchange for a bad cup of coffee so therefore I have no right to complain? You can't be serious....

I still have no idea where General Discussion is now.

GenDis no longer exists as a functional forum. It is buried somewhere as a repository of all the old posts, but one cannot post or comment on it anymore.

Good post.

Stupid Post.

If you own a Hotel, and you arrange everything to be hard to use, and generally make the stay unpleasant, with pushy and rude service you have that right, as you own the Hotel. But you will also go broke, because after a bit, word of mouth will get around that under the shiny veneer the place is actually a steaming pile crossed with the Bates place, and no one will come.

When one has ownership, they have the right to do anything. That doesn't always make it the wise choice to exercise that right.

I mostly think the reaction to the forum nerf is hilarous. I do have one actual gripe, though - IMO we don't need 6+ different subforums for talking about robots.

Well, I was leaving this thread alone so it could actually be a discussion and not be sent to K Town...

Exactly. It's not exactly like it's a little cozy space for devs and their friends to hang out and chat in. The forum is for the users. How dare the users of said forum be upset at changes they don't want or like. That's crazy talk! Get me one of those tin foil hats, Bishop, I believe I am going insane here.

If it is a bonus feature, then it doesn't really matter what we think. But why would you invite people into your house and then purposefully rearrange your house in the most displeasing way to the people you invited over?

I love how people are griping about how GD is gone when P&S is literally just GD with more radio buttons.

Are you just seeking to attack other people because PGI did something you did not like? Dude get a hold of your life. That does not give you the right to be a total jerk to the people around you! Learn how to communicate with other human beings buddy. I can't believe you are so upset over a GAME. Games are meant to be fun. Not having fun? Then that is a sure sign to leave. They can do what they want. These are not your forums. You can yell and scream all you want but it will get you no where in life.

And a ton of other questionable things we are not allowed to discuss per the rules of the forums which is why it is so frustrating to begin with... P&S is the de facto GD with ... well... you see... I *literally* cannot tell you what is wrong with P&S being the new GD without breaking a forum rule, which is silly.

Inversely I *literally* cannot tell you what's good about P&S being the new GD without breaking a forum rule.

Just sayin.

No, because you have resorted to ad hominem attacks and emotion filled rants, which is food for us.

You used to post better, now you're just becoming another QQer. Have you tried Decaf.

So basically you just want to have a place where you can post conspiracy theories about PGI and rant about how they killed your puppy with a hammer. Gotcha.
