Do not want. No interest in sinking unecessary money into hardware I'll use for only one game, especially when I have a perfectly functional Sidewinder Pro from circa 1996 that still works just fine.

I have one from like '03 around here somewhere.
I love Sidewinder Pros! You do realize that there will be lots of people playing the game who are younger than that controller, though!

seems to be just a gimmick... no use for better ingame skills... but it looks nice anyway :-D

I don't get why anyone's complaining. After all, if you don't want it you could just stick with your mouse/keyboard setup. I would probably get it, but I've never played on a joystick before and will likely do terrible if I do .

I find it nice that they were able to partner up with such a big company; it bodes well for the game's future!

How the last 3minutes of my life went when looking at the countdown page.

"Ohh 1min left on countdown"
"20 seconds!"
"3...2...1..."
"Page reloads..."
"stares...absorbs what my eyes are seeing..."
"hope fades"
"Dissapointment sets in"
"Closes page and comes to forum to express dissapointment"

It'll be overpriced, very narrow in usefullness and a giant pig to get out and put away whenever I play other games, no thanks.

I thought it would be a live streaming show from E3 or an Online Mechlab integrated into the game or at least a bunch of new mechs...

For all those complaining about this being for one game and thus being a waste, do you honestly think Razer would be dumb enough to make a product that only functioned in one game? The team over there (and the guys at PGI) are not amateurs likely to make an error like that. I wager that this controller will be functional with many sims and maybe even other types of games. The ability of people on the internet to continually amaze me never ceases to boggle me.

There is a colorized model of the controller on the Razerone.com website. Green and yellow.

They should add ingame support for gametrix vibropads, so that force feedback will kick you from your chair when mech falls from heavy gauss recoil

Yeah, I just died a little inside. It's a nice concept and I am sure would make for a great gaming experience, but I can't afford that. Especially, since it would be only for one game. I still got a Sidewinder that works flawlessly.

I would imagine it will work in other games, it will be recognized by a computer as a traditional HOTAS type (granted the screen wont function)

Again really, it's not that I don't like the controller, even though the cost might be higher than I like, it's that they overhhyped this WAYY out of control. Honestly, a regular post or e-mail announcement would have sufficed just fine.

Sorry Russ, not a lot of enthusiasm here.

Make F2P game, release hyped up expensive peripheral

First, this is way better than just a new bunch of mechs (that can be announced anytime, its not an E3 worthy announcement [if you understand what E3 is].

Second, this is why you don't see IGP/PGI at E3 on their own. MWO is there with Razer. So it makes sense.

Third, this is big in that it means there's good support for MWO. A controller like this is fantastic and lasting advertising.

Fourth, there's no doubt in my mind that this controller will be useful for other games, such as World of Warplanes.

I would have much rather have seen a new mech (paticularly a reseen) or a mech lab we could play with.

Here-here. This will give you a general idea of Piranha's motivation. First, the Founder's Package (paying for c-bills when we don't even know how the economy/experience grind works yet) and then a controller. Granted, a very big, shiny controller with potential awesome (if you don't already have a joystick or nostromo, etc). I'll still likely lay the cash down for both since I lack a current joystick.

I wager that this controller will be functional with many sims and maybe even other types of games.

Correct. This is a keypad and joystick flavored with MWO. You will be able to play World of Tanks/Planes/Automobiles/whatever with this. The bet is that you'll buy it because you're an MWO fan, tho. We'll see how successful it is.

(Still wish Artemis had been an Unseen announcement, tho.)
