I'm new and i think I ruined my download. I successfully downloaded MWO but when it started to patch I went to do some other stuff on my computer. When I came back it said download successful but it acted like it was still downloading. I closed it a =nd reopened it but it would CTD. I tried to uninstall but it wouldn't work. so I tried to manually uninstall. I deleted everything I could find but when i redownloaded the installer it says i still have a version of MWO on my computer. I cant find it though!!! Help!

thats a doozy.
If you manually deleted the folder I'm pretty sure you can safely ignore that warning and just go ahead and install it. (its probably complaining that the directory exists).

It calls the error fatal and the only button is ok which closes the install window. I still can not find the version it speaks of. The repair tool is also useless. I'm not sure what to do.

able to post a screenie of your error? (alt+PrtScr)
can you list what your hw specs are, as well as any 3rd party antivirus programs (anything else you might think relevant)
Are you experiencing any other issues on your system atm?

Ran the tool, still having issues with low frame-rate. Video card is a Ge-Force 650M with quad-core CPU, 8gb RAM MacBook Pro 15 w/ Boot Camp Win 7. Gpu drivers are up-to-date. Used above mentioned site, results are between min. req. and rec. req. Frame-Rate was not an issue about a month ago where I was at least at 25-30. Now I am at a 1-9. Ran into this issue prior to installing Advast, so I know it is not my anti-virus interfering. Any other suggestions other then a GPU upgrade? Thanks! P.S. Settings used to be all on high, now their on medium and most likely will have to change it to low since I ran the tool.

im assuming you arent playing off batteries?

Try turning off AA and possibly PostProcessing set to low, also try turning off motion blue.
I have found these three are quite unoptimized in MWO and have a large FPS hit when they really shouldnt.

Other things to try is disabling avast (worth a shot), and closing your web browser.. Ive noticed flash behaving oddly recently.

It is plugged in when playing. The Power options is set to performance when plugged in. Everything is on low and motion blur Is off. I disabled Advast and browser is closed. At this point, it is unplayable due to even further FR loss to 1-5FPS. I suppose someone will let me know when they get this issue under control and I will play again. Until then, any recommendations? lol

i dunno man, it kinda sounds like a pc problem to me.
using the latest bootcamp/windowsutils?

is anything chewing cputime? check using sysinternals processxp as it gives waaaaay more info (think of it as the powered up version of taskmanager).

Anything change on your system from before it occurred?

other then that, the only real other option is to format your bootcamp drive and start fresh. Hell, I get better fps on my old 2009mbp then what you are getting - so it has to be something local.

At first, I thought it was an ISP issue with maybe being sluggish. Although, come to think of It, I was trying to play Just Cause 2 not long after I started having the issue and that ran slow too and I normally run that on all high settings. Somehow, you are most likely going on the right trail with it being on Windows side of things. BootCamp is running @ V.4.0 and Win 7 with almost all the new updates. Has anyone had luck running MWO on Win 8? It runs on the desktop fine, I am just not a fan of them using the Windows phone OS style to it. Personally, I thought if they had left the whole tile style out, it is a decent OS w/ the usual Microsoft issues. lol

Windows 8 is another kettle of fish, awesome OS for tablets - not so much for desktops.. it really does require touch input to get the most out of it.. however I do find myself using the desktop more often then not due to microsofts lockdown of the ribbon.

anyway... few things to try.

Download and "Clean Install" (meaning go custom and select clean install to remove all settings) the latest NVIDIA drivers for your 650M. This will ensure no weird settings are kept.

It does sound almost like your mbp is defaulting back to the integrated Intel graphics (ive seen this happen a lot on alienware laptops) rather then using the dedicated card.

I'd also have a look at the Apple Bootcamp control panel in case you may have inadvertently selected something strange (or if it did it itself during an update). Power management settings also couldnt hurt to have the once over just to make sure.

I am certain it is something to do with your windows install - being one of these drivers or possibly a rogue app screwing around.

Well, I completely started from scratch. Formatted the entire drive. Reinstall of Os X and Win 7 with new Boot Camp 5.0 and updated all Windows and graphics drivers. Trust me, this definitely took a lot of time. I plan on running that tool before I start MWO after it is all patched for the first time. Hopefully all goes well, I will get back to you as soon as I finished updating Neverwinter. lol Thanks for all the ideas too! I figure starting all over again should do the trick.

I get that same issue, they seem to corrupt after the game crashes out with an f-read error. Havent found a permanent solution for it.

wow, I kinda meant to reinstall the windows side as a last resort but in any case it will remove any non-hardware related issues off the table and you will experience a much smoother system for doing so.

Besides setting Windows Power Options to Best Performance, in the Nvidia control panel set Power Management Mode to Prefer Max Performance. This prevents ya running on the Intel graphics on the CPU. You may need to set a profile for MWO.

The other is to run a program that monitors current and up to date CPU and GPU speeds.

As for Win 8, download Classic Shell at www.classicshell.net It will give you the Start Menu/etc.

It currently broken.

Keeps finding the same mismatched files after running the tool successfully, just as stated by others above.

Fix it, or temporarily take it down if you need time to investigate.
