Mouse and keyboard are only as good as your mouse and pad. I'm finding that I cannot compete in Tribes because I cannot aim cleanly or fast enough. This could just be the pad because my mouse claims it has a pretty sensitive laser - though I have the WoW mouse so that could be it too.

A mech is not nearly as nimble as a pathfinder with the thrust pack though, so I probably won't need MEGATWITCHZOMGLAWL reflexes to hit people. Still, if I find myself needing HARDWARE and the unit isn't horribly expensive / terribly made; I might get it.

Being able to potentially turn off your on-screen map, or not rely on the tiny fkn map in one corner of the HUD would be nice, after all.

I would suggest though, and I'm only half joking, that someone look into making an actuall head piece that has a built in hud eye piece. THAT would be an imersion toy :P

~S~ to PGI for having the guts to try something risky, I hope this pans out for them and the game.

Incidentally, probably not that hard to do yourself with a small LCD mapped as a secondary monitor. It would depend on how many the game supports and what control you have over what goes to which monitor.

Look at picture 8.

Does that make it look like it could be a touch screen?, now that would be neat. To see different damage status and such

However.. touch screen also means more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ , it's also still just concept so who knows.

I will absolutely be getting this controller. My sons swear by Razer tech.

I hope it will not end up beside my steel battallion controller set. Which I still have and wish someone could provide me with a way to link it to my PC.

definitely not. the last time I bought a razer product I quickly discovered their customer support is terribl. well that and everything they make wears out or breaks easily. Quite amusing that I have to go back to using an 8 year old mouse because the "new and better" one I buy just stops working one day 9 months later- which coincidentally was around the same time the "newer and betterer" model came out. which i tried. and discovered i needed to buy a Razer mousepadTM for it to work as intended

and I hate to break it to you william but there's a good chance they "swear by razer" because they think the prodcuts with all their rice features make them better at games. well that and there's a 1 in 50 chance your kids are actually competent professional players in whatever they play. I don't count consoles though because consoles are the cusp of laughability when it comes to competitive games. I will however concede my statement on fighting games since they take an insane amount of dedication but ultimately they are nothing more than memorization.

but I digress. Never take the word of a child on matters of experience because they don't have the experience to know any better. however their input is often times enlightening provided you do your own research

Sure someone said it already but if they are really serious about this product. They really need to put alot of thought into it and not just throw it together like the SWTOR keyboard to make a quick buck. While I love the keyboard but when it breaks the first time plugging it into the computer ya. Also they need to make sure its not a resource hog

Is it just me, or does the joystick part of this thing look like it was made by Saitek? If so, at least that part will be built to last...

Also, there are two major conditions to my interest to purchase this thing:

1. Will the screen cause issues with the SLI drivers with SLI activated, like the Logitech G19's screen?
2. I would have to see something amazingly useful for the screen. Otherwise, waste of space/cash.

Personally, I think they'd be better off putting a Black Widow keyset with matching backlighting in the center (minus the numpad), rather than the screen. It would probably even drop the cost a good bit.

A few things would need to be met. First, no screen version, or something similar for two reasons, one is cost, the other is how often will I look at that screen? Another thing is will I actually enjoy this game? I mean, it looks like a great game, but so did SWTOR and we all know how that's working out atm.

One thing should be noted here:

SWTOR is "failing" because it is, essentially, a good single player game. A single player game with a monthly fee, ocasional lag and disconnect and the inability to play offline.

Community content and PVP is laughable at best, when compared with other games.

MW:O, on the other hand, is a pure PVP game. Its more akin to World of Tanks, in that it has RPG elements but you're basically going from one match to another without stopping to gaze at vistas or read quest text.

I have a Razer DeathAdder, Razer Arctosa, and Razer Goliathus. Me being OCD, I just may buy it. Not because it is a sound financial decision (is my X52 not enough?), but because I need to finish the combo. :P I actually really really like the design of it. If the MFD can display non-Mechwarrior related items, such as the DSMS/TAD for the A-10C Warthog, I think it is justifiable. The X52 is a downright ugly design, even if it is a good one.

This is Razers first joystick, no?

The biggest flaw in SWTOR, in my opinion, is the lack of real space content. How the hell do you have Star Wars without space combat?

And no, the rail shooter thing doesn't count, especially since it's the same every time, and you can't do it with anyone else.

It's cool but I'd prefer Logitech products over Razer. I still plan on getting a joystick and maybe a dedicated keypad/pedals/throttle if this game is good enough.

Nope! Mouse and keyboard will be just fine for me, don't use flight sticks unless I'm like in the air!

Unfortunately I had to vote no.

My system bottleneck is in the computer itself. It was built over 2 years ago with the best price/performance components and it's starting to show it's age. Getting a fancy controller at this point is like adding a diamond steering wheel on a lada. Especially since I have a X52 already.

Would I like to get one at some point? Absolutely. I'm a sucker for fancy gadgets and the Artemis looks awesome. But that's not going to happen before I've completely overhauled the computer, and even after that there's some other hardware in my backlog that preceeds the Artemis.

After seeing very mixed reactions regarding Artemis, I was wondering who is planning on buying Artemis? And, if you are, how much are you willing to spend on it?

For me, Artemis looks like a cool gimmick. However, it appears to be for righthanded people only (and I am lefthanded). In addition, I am more of a mouse player, so I'll probably not get Artemis.

Second question relates to the marketing of Artemis. Was it worth the hype? I myself felt a bit bummed out that after all the fuss, Artemis appeared to be only about a joystick.
